And I haven't mentioned a word to my DH
It was just too good to let sit, and I wanted to jump on it.
They asked if I wanted to make an offer or pay asking, I just went w/asking because it was pretty low and will be surprised if it doesn't get ROFR. I hope that wasn't foolish. I hadn't planned on doing financing, I thought I'd put it on my Disney card and have it knocked out in a couple of months w/some overtime. However, I found out they won't let you do over $1000 on a cc. But if closing takes long enough, I should still be able to avoid financing. I just hope my DH doesn't freak on me. I've just wanted this for so long and we are finally debt free except for our home and 1 car that we borrowed w/a thrift acct so technically we'll get that back. I'd been wanting to start saving for my next car, but I think I can handle driving my current one another year if it means DVC. Sorry to ramble, just a major adrenaline rush going here, LOL.

I want to know what the offer was and what home resort you will be at. I am halfway thru my ROFR. I am getting impatient. What company are you using?

BIG congrats!!! I'm SO jealous!

I think that's awesome!

I'm almost to the same point as you are at with finances (house + 1 car) and then I'll be able to look at possible deals too.

I say, if you worked hard to get to that financial goal (no commercial debt except for car), then you're ready to make another leap. I'm sure that your DH wouldn't want a great opportunity to get swiped by someone else just because you didn't act fast enough...

I hope the rest of your process doesn't take too long....but then, it's good for decades worth of fun, so what's a few weeks wait? hehe

It's for SSR. My ideal choice was VWL because I like to go at Christmas. I also like BC. Although one problem w/both of those is 1bathroom in 1BR, I have 2 DDs- nuff said. When we toured we thought SSR was nice but I had reservations about it due to the transportation situation and the fact that there were so many availability by home resort wasn't a real issue. However, I do think it might be worth it for the Treehouses. I figure it could be a good way to dip my toe into DVC w/o feeling I've thrown out money on renting. If I love it then it is a small enough investment that I can add others later.

SSR and the Price per point is? And do you get any or all 2009, 2010 and 2011 points? Who pays the MFs for 2009 and 2010 (buyer or seller or a combo of both)? Did you bid on the SSR contract listed with TTS for $62 per point, 130 points?

BTW, you realize you will need to be able to pay for this contract within 30 days if it passes ROFR?

Wow. your inquisition (which borders on being rude, if not already across that line) would seem to imply that OP hasn't given this purchase any thought whatsoever & hasn't had a meaningful discussion with resale agency on specifics just because she hasn't posted contract details here to your liking.

Best wishes to you OP on your offer & post back how things go :goodvibes

Sorry didn't mean to be rude. Just curious what the bargain was. I usually keep an eye on the ROFR thread and the for sale list at the TimeShare store. The OP did sound a little worried about her impulsive bid though and I over reacted.

We stayed in a SSR 1 bedroom in November, and it only had 1 bathroom - just like VWL and BCV.

Okay this has been confusing me which resorts have a second bathroom in the 1 bedroom villas? I was trying to figure that out and the books we got when we joined did not tell us if there was a 2nd bath in the 1 bedroom.

I have to wonder why some of the 1 bedroom units do not have 2 dbl or queen beds in Master especially for the families with young kids. I would have found this as a total selling point for me when my DD's were younger since after long days at the parks they could sleep in while DH could utilize the living room/kitchen without waking them in th a.m., or being able to put them to bed and just hang out in the living room without having to use the sofa ourselves.

The only 1 bedrooms at WDW that have 2 bathrooms are the ones at AKV (and possibly, not sure, it is only those at Kidani) and those at BLT which are the newer resorts.

All the older resorts only have 1 bathroom.

While maybe intrusive, I thought you sounded excited for the OP and like many of us on the DIS, were just wanting all the details. I can understand that.

I can be a bit superstitious so I hated to post too many details until it was a sure thing.

SSR only 1 bath in 1 bedroom? :confused:I could have SWORN on our tour and as much as I've looked for the last couple of years that the newer ones from SSR on had the 1 bathrooms.

Oh geeze, looking at it you guys are right. How could I have made such an oversight all this time? I'm so embarrassed. We haven't signed anything, but I still feel bad like I've wasted people's time. Still, I can't make this investment w/o it being something I'm 100%. I do like SSR, but a major appeal was being a newer resort that included what I thought to be more bathrooms.

Yes, me too I like details as well & wasn't suggesting to poster Denlo that wanting to hear details/asking questions is a bit much but the overall tone

back to the subject at hand................;)

congrats, op!!!
i can fully understand the adrenaline rush - kinda like winning that coveted item on ebay, right?:yay::banana: lol

SSR is a gorgeous resort, imho (we definately prefer it over the BCVs), with lots to offer. i'm sure you'll be very happy there, but remember you can still often book the other resorts at the 7 month mark.

good luck!!!!:)

You aren't alone... I made an offer on a SSR resale add-on recently without my wife knowing! She often fall asleep before me... I was online and saw a small contract at a decent asking price... addonitis had set in!
I got into bed with her... started talking to her about it... stating about how the new paddock Pool is going to be & other reasons to add on. She actually talked back to me and said it sounded good!
I told her that I was going to put in an offer 1st thing in the AM. She wakes up and goes to work before me, I didn't talk to her again until after putting in the offer. She told me she didn't remember any of our discussion... must've been dreaming! She did agree that it was a good deal! We're waiting on ROFR.
Alls well that ends well!
