This kid ain't got nothin' on the hoarders so cleaning out is a major project and hey, I can close her door right? Well, she wanted a desk which we thought is a dandy idea and she also wants a snake...

So, the deal is, to get the desk, we have to clean, toss and rearrange, which is almost done. Now, about the snake...we made space but she has to earn it, and boy are DH and I finding fun ways to make her earn it!

Now the trick will be getting her to keep it even close to this state. Ah well, I pick my battles and this is one she generally gets to "win" but I am sure glad when I can get in there with a large garbage bag!

Oh no worries about the care. We currently have three dogs, four fish and two budgies so we are good at taking care of critters. We are thinking long and hard about this though. We went to the bookstore on Sat and had DD buy a snake keeping book with her own money to show her commitment. Her bday is in April so we have a few months to decide if we really will let her get one now.

Please tell me- Is the floor still the color you thought it was, originally?

It has been so long since I have seen the carpeting in my DD's room I'm just assuming it is still under there! Wonder what color it was?

DD has a large closet (attic access in ceiling) so it has always also been a sort of clubhouse for her. There are a couple small area rugs in there and she has "decorated" it over the years. DH walks by yesterday after the purge and says "Wow, I forgot there was a rug in there!"

I wish I could get her to thin the stuffed animal herd but she is adamant they all need to stay. Unfortunately the kid has a steel trap mind and if I remove one she pounces on me immediately! Ah well, one battle at a time!
