Table Service Reviews-

Rainforest Cafe Animal Kingdom-

Time/Day- Sat. at 1:30 pm

We arrived about 5 minutes late for our ADR but, we were seated within 5 minutes.

First we had an appetizer sampler that was really good.

I had the China Island Chicken Salad, which was the most delicious salad ever. It was HUGE! It could have easily fed 2 adults and a small child. LOL

My DH had a cheeseburger that he said was good.

My daughter's had a shrimp and chicken meal and hot dogs that they devoured. The kids menu had better selections than most.

We skipped desert because this was an out of pocket meal and we had dinner at Boma coming up. ;)

Atmosphere- B ,the tables were quite close together and it was so loud. My normally brave 2 yr old was terrified of this restaurant. I was shocked! But, the rest of us loved it!

Value- C, if this meal had been on the dining plan I would have rated it a better value. We paid OOP and it was one of the more expensive meals of the week. Our drinks were even more expensive than Disney owned restaurants. My salad was over $16, our appetizer sampler was around $19.

BOMA- Flavors of Africa

Time/Day- Sat. 7:45 pm

We arrived about 15 minutes late for our ADR, we were seated within 5 minutes anyway with no problem.

The food here was just wonderful. I could have stayed and ate all night. I tried at least one bite of everything on the buffet I believe! My family literally sat there with glazed looks in their eyes as I went back for more 5-6 times. LOL I almost told them to go back to the resort and I would find a way back later. :rotfl:

This was my favorite meal of the entire trip!

1900 Park Fare-Supercalifragalistic Breakfast

Time/Day- Sun. (Mother's Day) at 9:10 am

Well, once again, we were late for our ADR. This time about 30 minutes late. There was a road closure and we got lost. Anyway, they were super nice and we were seated within 10 minutes. We opted out of the family picture because we were so hungry.

The food here was very good and our server was fabulous! He refilled those tiny juice cups CONSTANTLY! He asked often how we were doing etc. The best service of the trip.

The coffee was not good, but I wasn't surprised.

BUT, I absolutely loved the Lobster Benedict and the strawberry soup as well as the bread pudding with the vanilla sauce and the mickey waffles with bananas foster syrup...All so good. There was an omelet station but, I was afraid to miss characters while waiting in the long line so I didn't wait for one.

The character interaction seemed pretty rushed and this restaurant was SO slammed! SO busy, I'm sure mother's day and it being Sunday mid-morning played a part in that. But, the service was superb in spite of how busy it was.

Service- A++

Atmosphere- B Very crowded- seats so close Tigger's tail bumped the back of my head twice! Totally worth it for the characters though. We adored Alice, Mary Poppins and Tigger and Pooh though. Such fun!

Value- A+ , Fantastic selection of hot, fresh food.

Biergarten

Time/Day- Mon. 7:20 pm

We waited the longest at this restaurant to be seated. We sat in the entrance (covered, but open to the outside) at a small table. It was incredibly hot. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated.

Once we were inside, we were introduced to our two table mates. They were very nice. I ordered a beer flight and DH ordered a giant mug of some sort of beer. I didn't find any of the beer to be that good, but felt it appropriate to drink it anyway. Each sip got a bit tastier though. :rotfl:

I thought the food was very good. I was really interested in the atmosphere of this restaurant. It took a while for the performers to show up. But, the girls did enjoy dancing once the entertainment arrived while DH and I drank and ate to our hearts content. But, as quickly as the entertainers appeared they also disappeared and we were pretty disappointed in the short show. They literally did like 3 songs and were gone! :confused3 We all found something good to eat and even my Biergarten resistant DH said it was his favorite meal of the week! :thumbsup2

Food- Very good selection, quality and freshness. All hot and well stocked buffet.

Service- A

Atmosphere- B-, I was very disappointed that the entertainment was so short. I was hoping it would last at least 30-45 minutes! I didn't mind dining with other guests at all, at first that almost made me cancel because my kids can be not so great diners at times. But, all was good. If we had not been expecting entertainment I would have rated it higher.

Value- A+ tons of great food for a better price than most buffets- I would book lunch if paying OOP.

Boatwright's Dining Hall

Time/Day-Tues. at 6:25 pm

Ok, so once again we were late. Actually we arrived at 6:55 pm. But, they still got us seated about 10 minutes later.

There seemed to be a communication barrier between our server and us, which was frustrating.

We ordered the Cajun seasoned Crayfish bites first. They were yummy! I'm not a huge seafood fan but these were great.

The kids were served their fruit cups as an appetizer.

I ordered the Voodoo Chicken with the collard greens and it was SO good.

DH ordered the prime rib which was also very good.

The girls ordered cheeseburgers that were typical.

I had a bread pudding with rum raisin ice cream for dessert. Gosh, I cannot get enough bread pudding and it's a good thing since its a staple at Disney apparently!

DH had Bananas Foster Angel Food Cake - Served with vanilla bean ice cream. He didn't mention it so no idea if it was good.

The service at this restaurant was very slow this night and it was very crowded for a Tuesday night. We almost didn't make it to our 8:30 pm carriage ride right outside the restaurant. We had to take our desert to go or we would have missed the carriage ride. Now, I realize we got there at 6:55 and were not seated until 7:05 but, we put in our appetizer and entree orders with our drinks no later than 7:10 we didn't receive or entrees until 8:15 (SERIOUSLY?!) and we told our server at 8:00 that we had a carriage ride in 30 minutes and requested our desert to go and a check right away. We didn't get the desert or check until 8:35 pm. Luckily our carriage driver was very nice and allowed us to still go on our ride.

Time/Day- Wed. at 6:25 pm

We were late again (hmm... I think we were late to almost EVERY meal) but, this time just a couple minutes or so. We were seated very quickly, within 5 minutes or so.

Our service here was very good. The food was hot, fresh, delicious. The girls loved the festivities for the kids. They collected several leis throughout the evening (as did I :) ). After dinner we walked out to the beach and watched Wishes, a fabulous ending to a fabulous evening!!

Day/Time- Thurs. 6:20 pm

We actually made it on time to this one!!! :yay: lol I had just enough time in the check in line to snap a couple pics of the girls outside the restaurant in their gowns. We were then put in another line to take a pic with Belle. We were seated within 10 minutes from walk up including two lines and pics! :)

The service was awesome this night and I thought the cold appetizer bar was great. My girls at platefuls of the shrimp! LOL I couldn't peel them fast enough for my 2 yr old so she started peeling them herself. LOL :rotfl:

We saw Belle, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Aurora, and ARIEL in her green gown!!! She was hysterical. My very favorite character the whole trip- kept calling my girls little starfish!

I had the Traditional Kjottkake, which I liked. Nothing amazing but, still good I ate it all.

My DH had mushroom stuffed pasta, he said it was good.

I wasn't impressed with the teeny desert plate they brought us, nothing was very good. But, I was ready to go anyway cause we wanted to ride Malstrom and Soarin' before we left.

The service here was AWESOME and even with characters we were in and out in exactly ONE HOUR from walk up! Now that ROCKS! :cool1:

Tusker House

Time/Day- Fri. 4:45 pm

We decided at the last minute to go to Tusker House for dinner because we were hungry and tired and didn't want to wait til our 7 pm ressie at Downtown Disney. So, we walked right up to Tusker House and were took in within 2 minutes.

I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant! It was fabulous. Looked so authentic. The food was good and a huge selection. But, I had been spoiled with Boma earlier in the week and honestly Tusker House doesn't hold a candle to Boma so I was slightly disappointed. The desserts were good, more bread pudding!

Value- C+, Not sure why really just unimpressed I guess. I felt like I wasted a dining credit. I had really hoped we had tried to get into Yak and Yeti instead. I just felt there are better options out there if you are on the dining plan.

Next post will be counter service reviews! :goodvibes

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at POFQ

We stayed at POFQ, so this was the CS we frequented most. The food here was so good. I loved the muffletta sandwich, the beef po' boy, the cheesesteak- all super good! I had cheesecake with every meal too. YUM!

We had the famous beignets. No one was too impressed though, the girls licked the sugar off them and handed me back mushy doughballs.

DH & I dubbed them deep-fried puffs of air (with laxative qualities) with powdered sugar on top. :thumbsup2

Very good food court, always clean, never too busy and the service was superb.

Riverside Mill at POR

We walked down to POR food court one night. Very good food court as well! We enjoyed the create your own pasta and DH had a HUGE burger with an onion ring and bbq sauce on it. So big it wouldn't fit in the to go box so they had to rig one it would fit in and wrap it in saran wrap. LOL

Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom

We decided to stop in one morning around 10:15 am. It was super crowded. They handed us a menu as we walked in the door and we waited in line for a good 10 minutes. When we got to the front there were more selections than listed.

When we took our tray to the dining area there was no where to sit. We walked outside and a nice CM told us to take a left and there was a quiet outdoor seating area. He was right and no one else was there and it was adorable!

The ham, egg and cheese croissants and the danishes were good.

It sounds like you had a great time and had some great food :thumbsup2. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your reviews, we are thinking of going to Boatwrights next week.

Can you tell me if you recall taco salads at the POFQ? I cannot imagine what my DH will do if they are no longer serving them :lmao:

Why did you give Rainforest Cafe a value of C? It sounds/reads like y'all really enjoyed it.

I think that everything was really overpriced and we were paying out of pocket. My salad was huge but, I believe it was $16 or so. My DH burger was close to $15 I believe. The appetizer was just under $20 and our drinks were $11 I believe. This is even steeper than average Disney fare in my opinion. I know other places similar alcoholic drinks were only $8-$9.

Had this meal been included on the dining plan I would have given it a better score.

We did enjoy the meal though! I would have liked to have ordered 1/2 a salad for 1/2 the price- that would have helped with the value.

It is possible they are and I just never noticed them. Sorry I can't be of more help! :goodvibes
