We are scheduled to leave 6 am Sunday am. Figures, no snow for whole winter and now they are saying northeast is getting lots of snow tomorrow night through Sunday- 8-12 inches. Am trying to leave early, but rescheduling through Delta is tough because we are using Frequent Flyer miles. The good news is whe might get to Orlando 24 hours earlier than originally planned! :cool1: The bad news is it might cost us $250 to do it. We may just show up at 4 am at the airport tomorrow morning as there is plenty of availability. Can someone send us some pixie dust, so we don't end up stuck with 3 small children in an airport on Sunday and miss day one of our vacation at WDW? Thanks guys.

I hope it helps...they do a pretty good job of keeping Logan open - at least they did they 12 years I lived there. Just think how much fun YOU will be having while all your friends and family are knee high in the snow... :rotfl2:

:tink: Here's to safely arriving in Orlando and enjoying much warmer weather for a time.

I feel so bad for you! I think it would be well worth the $250 to go a day early and just get the heck out of dodge before the snow comes. What a major piece of irony, huh, considering how little snow we've had so far this season.

XXXX Fingers Crossed for you XXXX Safe travels! :smickey:

pixiedust: Here's pixie dust heading your way! Hopefully we won't get in on too much of the snow in Northern VT. Have a safe trip and think of us back here in the cold! :flower1:

Horsegirl,
I'm right there with you. We are scheduled to leave at 8:45am Sunday morning, but it is not looking good. All flights for us (Continental) are booked early Saturday already. I suggested us getting up early Sat morning and just start driving down. We'd have a free place to stay Sat night at my parents house in Savannah, GA. But we are going with another family and they don't want to drive. So, my ideas have been "voted off the island."

So, if you see a grown man crying  at the Newark Airport Sunday morning while waiting for his delayed flight, that will be me. At least I will have my four-year old DD to take care of me. :rotfl2:

For what it's worth - I was in the same situation once and went ahead and paid the $50/person. Just after we booked, Delta finally admitted the weather was going to casue problems and waived the fee. Grrr. Well, as it turned out, by paying the fee, not only did we jump ahead of everybody else in line to book for the earlier flight, we were put in First Class. Whoo hooo! Only drawback was they had to cancel all services (including the free drinks I was looking forward to) because of the rough weather ahead of the storm. But it was still kinda cool.

Best of luck whichever route you go...

I'm right there with you. I'm scheduled to fly out of Philadelphia Sunday at 9:30am. I live about 1 1/2 hours northwest of Philadelphia, so I'm driving down to Philly tomorrow and staying at the Marriott at the airport. It was cheaper to do that than to change my flight. I just hope the flight leaves on time on Sunday. I don't think I can't wait much longer to get there!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you! If I were in your place, I would pay the change fee and get out early. If you are flying out of Logan, it's not just the snow you have to worry about, it's the wind too.

Sometimes it is just worth the extra money, and what better way to spend it than for WDW. Here is Pixie Dust for you and your little ones. Arrive safely :sunny: pixiedust:

Oh horsegirl! :wizard: for you for a safe trip! Hey, who's taking care of the barn while you're gone???? :teeth: I'm supposed to get my foster horse tomorrow, but I guess we'll see. Thanks a lot, stoopid snow!

I hope you have a fabulous trip and of course we'll all be waiting on thet trip report I know you're going to do as soon as you get home. :thumbsup2

Have a good time!

Good luck, it sounds like it's going to be nasty from Virgina up through New England. I'd definitely try to get out early if you can. Better that, then not being able to get out at all until Monday.

We actually fly out of portland. Our plan is actually to leave our house at 3 am sat and try to get on the 6 am flight out connecting in cincinnati. As it is they will book us to laguardia at 3 with a shuttle then to jfk flying into orlando tomorrow night at 10:45. So we could be stuck in ny! I have hopes that they'll let us on in Portland, one of the people I spoke to said, officially they don't allow this, but airports do have discretion. Maybe we'll just sit with our LOUD kids by the ticket counter until they relent! My Dh is cute, I am hoping he can charm them. I will send pixie dust to all of you who might also be affected by the storm! One way or another we will all get there. I can't wait to email all of you from WDW. Thanks again everyone!!!!!!!!!!! Ps I just let my kids have their new Disney costumes- my DS6 is now Peter Pan, my DD5 is Cindy, and my littlest dickens DS4 is stitch! Look for us at the MK!

pixiedust: Heres some dust from up north. Hopefully you will get out tomorrow. Dosen't look good for sunday, does figure all winter mild now a major storm on the way. That's New England for you. Good luck pixiedust:

Gosh, I feel so bad for all of you who are trying to leave on Sunday. For anyone leaving out of Logan I would pay the money to leave on an earlier flight. It is not only going to be a snow storm but a lot of wind! Not good flying conditions. BTW I hope you think of all of us snowbound Disney fans when you arrive in sunny Disney! HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! Say hi to the Mickey and friends for me.

Don't cry, Ryanmilla, head for the lounge! That's what I am doing if we end up stuck!

Just remember guys, persistance is the key!!! In December hubby and I had a 7a flight on Continental and a snow/ice storm was predicted to hit overnight. I begged and pleaded with the airline and on my 4th phone call I got someone who said sure we'll change your flight!! Hubby and I quick got the kids dinner and left for the airport. The flight was slightly delayed but we got to Disney earlier. So keep trying they would rather get you out early than sitting in the airport Sunday morning!! Keep calling and I will send you lots of pixie dust for a great vacation!!! :wizard:

Wow....6AM on Sunday out of Logan. If the weather people are right (and we all know that they are ALWAYS right), that'll be during the peak of the snowfall. Yeah, I'd try to get out Saturday instead, it'll be worth it. And if it turns out to be 2 inches, washed away by rain....send the bill to Harvey Leonard.
