OMG-- Exercise Hurts!!!!

I was encouraging my DSis just yesterday. She can do the 1 mile, or ½ the 2 mile (that's 1, too). I am so proud of you for getting up and trying it again! AND doing the whole tape. That is cause for CELEBRATION!

I am on my way right now for a 2 miler and then outdoors for a walk too, but gosh would love to walk when you guys are and chat a bit!

Kath- I was just going to send you a note to say at least try again as it gets easier and you are already a pro at that 1 mi. Soon you will tell us the 2 mi is a piece of cake! Yes, you will - but hooray for making it so far!

KathyTX - I am so glad that you have given us permission to give you a kick in the butt to keep you moving! (Well, you gave somebody permission and I figure my name was in that permission too) I won't harp until after that luxurious cruise but I am still thinking that walking around those decks can be exhilarating - you just might like it!

Hooray for us and I 'm sure Leslie S. is soooooooooooo proud of us - well if not proud - she is smiling from selling all those tapes. :D
 
Kathy and Katholyn - So glad to hear you're loving those WATP tapes!! You guys are great for keeping at it. Isn't Leslie just so inspiring?? Between her and the WISHers, we'll keep you going!! But remember, no extra points for causing pain... just work up nice and easy.

Bev, I only ask that you be gentle when delivering that kick in the butt!

I'm leaving for the cruise on Friday. I'm already trying to burn some good eating strategies into my head. (There's no need to clean your plate, avoid or go lightly on creamy sauces, start meals by eating the healthy veggies and salads, choose fruit instead of pastries at snacktimes)... Walking the decks on the ship? hmmmm... I could take my walking shoes and try that.

Even more likely (and this sounds nutty to me, but I am really considering it)- my stateroom will have plenty of space AND is equipped with a DVD player. Do you think DH would think me completely wacky if I brought WATP onboard, and walked in the privacy of my own room? I can't believe I'm even considering it.:eek:

I'm really going to try to not go completely overboard with the eating, but I know I'll be eating more than usual (and more than necessary!) Do you think I can get enough benefit from WATP to balance some of that out?

I want to thank ALL OF YOU for the encouragement and all the gentle pushing to get us exercising. Every single one of you has contributed to making me realize that I had to get off my tush and make a real effort to do this.

Who would have thought that all of our walkers would be able to convert even two anti-exercise WISHers like Katholyn and me?

The power of WISH is pretty amazing!
 

Well, now Kathy, I don't know that I could say I've been converted. I do the walking alright...still don't like it. I just force myself to do it.

Whatever it takes, though. If I am ever one of those people who actually miss working out when I don't get to, then I will consider myself converted :)

Until then, WATP is sort of like weeding the garden in the summer. I don't like it but I do it. :teeth:

Now - this is some reversal :D your walking shoes are going too!!

Okay now are you ready for this---- I vote "no" on the tape for the ship!!!! I think that you should get those shoes on and walk out on the deck or just go to one (or more) of the exercising classes that will be provided for you to participate in! Yes, I can only speak for myself, but they were refreshing - time to enjoy being with others and who knows - you just might actually like it :eek:

I really am jealous (oh did I say that) but of course WISHing you the best of times. And for the food, I just remember thinking "oh, do I have to eat, again"! So my guess is, that you will partake in lots of those tempting things, but all in all, you will do just fine!

And if you see some good looking key lime pie - have a bite for me!

Bev, I'll keep my eyes open for Key Lime pie. It's a huge sacrifice, but since it's for a dear friend... ;)



(Know what? I'm booked at the Yacht Club in December, but the Polynesian has really been calling my name. I start to relax just thinking about strolling those pathways in the evening, with the soft ukulele music subtly wafting from the lush tropical foliage... and when I remember that I have friends staying there it's even more tempting!)
 
I do believe that you can go for a power walk every morning, Kathy, even on your cruise. They have a group that walks every morning at 7 or so :)
