OMG-- Exercise Hurts!!!!

Okay, all my masochistic little exercise maniac friends.

I bought the Walk Away the Pounds DVD set on the way home today (see, I told you I would!) I got the kiddo settled in and shooed the dog out of the room, then walked ONE MILE with Leslie Sansone. It went a lot faster than I expected! I could definitely feel the blood pumping and the heart rate increase, but I think I can do the two mile walk with no problem next time.

At the end I was feeling ready for more, so I did the 20 minute Pilates workout. OUCH! The two workouts together is pushing it for me. :rolleyes:

Now I'm a bit sweaty, thirsty, warm and tired. I'll be sleeping good tonight.

Kelsie, do you want to WATP with me tomorrow? :teeth:

Okay KathyTX - you start in Dallas and I'll start in Austin and sometime we'll meet someplace in between!!
 
Well, my hips did not like it much. I think I'm still a little heavy and it stresses my hips.

However, I did one half mile today and I'll do it again tomorrow. When my hips stop complaining I will do the entire mile.

I bought this dvd when I was in Orlando and shopping with Robinrs. I hadn't tried it yet, then I saw your post, Kathy, and I was inspired and motivated to put that dvd in and get walking.

You are such a great inspiration for me, thanks sweetie!

I forgot something.....

I am SO proud of you both for getting out there and trying the WATP!!! Kathy - I did the same thing when I got my winsor pilates dvd. I thought - that WATP wasn't bad at all. I'll just do the pilates now. OUCH!! Never again! I have both them both in the same day, but never back to back again. My legs felt like rubber.

Yeah Kathy and Katholyn for giving WATP a go! You two rock! Now, I do not do WATP, as I do an outside 4 mile walk every day, but I have heard such great things about WATP that I just might have to try these tapes too. Anyway, I promise that your body quickly will adjust to exercising, and after you exercise regularily for awhile I will even bet that you will actually MISS it if you don't do it! I know you think I am a nut, but REALLY exercise makes your body feel so good and strong and it's cool to watch your body change from it too!

ahutton- How about meeting around Waco. It should take us, what, a month to walk that far? :teeth:

Katholyn!!! I'm so proud of you!!! I think the hardest part of this fitness stuff is getting started. Just getting around to getting the video and starting it up took A LOT of effort. (Just ask Geetey and Partyof6- they've really been urging me on!)

A half mile is a whole half mile more than you did yesterday! I'll say it a little louder, in case you didn't hear me: A WHOLE HALF MILE!!! A few more sessions of that, then you might be ready to try a whole mile! Imagine that!!!:p

Terry- thanks for being my cheerleader, encourager, and nagger (when necessary!):p I really didn't want to have to make any excuses to you... that's what pushed me to be absolutely sure I found this disk and worked through it today. Now we can all WATP together.

You do 4 miles EVERY DAY? Wow! Are you planning to do the 1/2 marathon in January 2005?

(I think Katholyn and I may be in charge of sideline cheerleading and finish line snacks!:p )

Isn't Peer Pressure AWESOME??? Our whole lives we were told not to give in to Peer Pressure...now look what it is doing for us!!!

Oh look at you girls GO! Kathy I thought about you tonight while i was doing my 2 mile walk. I was hoping i'd be seeing a post like this! We will walk the 2 mile walk tomorrow night with you won't we TERRY.LOL You have weight in on Sat. Kathy i know you want to walk with me tomorrow. I'm so proud of you for making the time to get this tape and walk for yourself this is just wonderful. When you get back from your cruise you are gonna get so fit with the watp tape you'll be melting off those last pounds!

Kath I'm so proud of you. Look at you all inspired to move! Moving any amount counts. Just like the loss's they all count. You will get to the end of that tape girl. Let me tell you my husband could motivate you more than me but i will share with you he can do 2 miles. And i can tell you when he started walking with me his knees were killing him. Once he started with the one mile walk for about two weeks he felt better. His knees did'nt bother him anymore! On the days he skips his walks he's knees bother him again.LOL So he HAS to do the tapes now.LOL Seriously he was a very, very, large man and has loss 75lbs with the help of eating healthier and moving more. He can now do that 2 miles with me with 10lb weights in each hand. It's tough he just moved from 5lbs and i don't know how he does it. I just do the walk and the ab tape for my extra moving. But he does it and YOU can too.

Oh and just for the record girls i like my margarita GOLD and on the rocks w/salt.LOL

Yes, I WILL be walking with you tomorrow! I will make sure it is the 2 mile too, so we can chat. ;) Once Kathy sees the boost these tapes can give you on weigh in, she will most definitely be hooked! Right, Tammy? I know I love 'em!! Thank you, Leslie Sansone for coming up with WATP!!!!! Maybe we can be on her next infomercial!! Hahahahah Or exercising in her next tape!!! :p

I am walking.... because I know I want Tammy's clippie!! Save it for me Tammy! I am sure you will have moved on to bigger and better ones, but I wouldn't mind yours at all. :)
 
I did the one mile WATP tape this morning for the 2nd time! I'm an old pro now ;) My heart wasn't pumping, but man!! My cheeks were hurtin'!! And I'm NOT talking about the ones you smile with! :teeth:

But like you, I was so happy when I finished! UNLIIKE you....... I didn't do the pilates........ I don't think I could if I wanted to!! My daughter does those!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be proud of yourselves . This exercising thing is pretty tough!
 
I enjoy all the watp tapes i have but for some reason the 2 miler has just stuck as being the right length that i have time for and can motivate myself to do. If i've slacked during the week i'll pop in the 3 miler on a saturday to sort of make up for a less than perfect week. But rarely. I really enjoy it. You guys will see a big different esp if you do it atleast 3 times a week 4 would be great if you find the time. Or add a did tape in there like i do for the fun of it.

Tracy you will have to fight with Kathy she's coming on strong for my clippee. I'm searching for that coveted 75lb'er that Kelsies working on. Hopefully in the next two months that baby will by mine by the time you guys steal away my clippee. Don't worry John has one he'll be giving up for the beautiful clippe that says GOAL on it. It'll be many many months before i see that baby under my name.LOL But no doubt it'll get there eventually. I am aim for 75lbs gone by labor day. That'll put me at a wonderful 159.5lbs! Only 22.5 to get it! That's just until the BF goes away and i can weight again. If i can hit 180 by Sunday then i have 11 weeks before my trip to loose 20.50 that's only 1.86 per week. I can do it! I may have to go to the 3 miler to get it done but it WILL be done cause i'm going shopping for my wedding dress in August!
 
Congrats on doing the WATP!!! Before you know it you will be sailing through your exercises and asking what's next?!! I am very proud of you!:D
 
Tammy- I am also aiming for 159.5 by Labor Day. (Then we can be twins, except you'll be the one with the cutest accent!)

That would be a total of 60 pounds gone for me. Since I've stalled a bit the past couple of weeks, I know I have to step up and do something different to get there. I'm really hoping that WATP will be the calorie-burning boost I need to get there.

Promise me that you'll give me a good kick in the tail if it sounds like I need it, okay?

I sure do appreciate all the encouragement I've been getting from EVERYBODY here. Thanks, LOSERS!!!:teeth:

It sounds like we'll have a pretty big group walking together tonight.:p

A one mile WATP DVD today, then a 2 mile, then the 3 mile...before you know it in 300 days you'll be registering for the walkathon- as a PARTICIPANT AND cheerleader! :) I'm just trying to drop subtle hints along the way.

Today I managed to make it one entire mile. I have a long way to go before moving up to the 2 mile but I did it :)

Wasn't it just two short days ago that you could do no more than 1/2 a mile? And you were motivated enough to try it again, and you went all the way??

Look at you- moving, burning those calories, and really boosting your weight-loss. Isn't it cool when we surprise ourselves?

You are AWESOME!!!!!!! I will let you in on a little secret too... shhhh.... it's been rumored that regular exercise keeps the Bloat Fairy away! It's true! IT hates the WATP tapes!!! I am SOOOO proud of you for doing the entire 1 mile!!! In every way, you continue to motivate everyone on WISH!!!
