This is soo horrible and sad. There apparently have been numerous fatalities at a an Amish school in Lancaster, PA. The shooter was shot and killed. My heart goes out to them.

Police have responded to reports of a hostage situation and multiple people shot in eastern Lancaster County at a small, one-room Amish schoolhouse.

This is so scary, you'd think that such a tight knit communbity wouldn't have school shootings...I guess I am just niave. This school only has 27 students, have not heard how many have actually been killed. Those poor people.

MSNBC is saying at least 5 dead. How horrible. I just don't understand....

CNN reported that shooter killed himself,several dead and 3 hospitalized with 1 of those being critical.

MSNBC just reported it is indeed at least 5 dead.

They also stated it was a single room school house grades 1st - 8th and only 27 children attended.

No news yet on shooter for certain.

Poor innocent babies....God bless their families!



I'm on my way to DD's school shortly to help with reading levels. I know I'm going to hug my own a bit tighter when I get there.

So very sad

We were just visiting this area in Sept. Having been raised in a neighborhood and county surrounded by Amish people this is so unbelievable. They are very religious, non violent, loving neighbors and some of the hardest working sincere people I've ever known. To be so against violence, TV's, cameras and modern way of living - now they are meeting a test like no other. My heart goes out those injured, the community and all involved.
