OMG 19 days!

Yes, in less than 19 days, we'll be heading out to Anaheim to meet up with Steven's Mother and her best friend and daughter. We've been getting all the emails for D23 Expo and we're having to do something that I HATE doing.

Trip planning. I loathe that with every fiber of my being.

We actually have to sit down and figure out which screenings, product releases and lectures we want to be a part of and plan our day to hop between the parks and the Expo. Thank you Jebus we don't have to plan our meals other than an Saturday night special meal I will not discuss until after we're back.

This trip couldn't come at a better time. Trying to close on our new home is going to cause me a stroke. Inspection is today. Appraisal next week. Still getting Underwriting asking for things here and there. We are scheduled to close 2 days after we get back from vacation.

But the big shocker? Yesterday, Steven got an email from a long lost old highschool buddy. He noticed that he and I were going to be going to DL/DCA in a few weeks. He invited us up for a day to Burbank.......

He works at Walt Disney Animation Studios! He wants us to come up for a day to hang out, have a tour, see the archives, see what they're working on.

Talk about being so excited I almost peed. It's just way too much to try to fit into our 4 day trip what with everything else going on. He told us the next trip to get in touch with him and we can spend a whole day at the studios.

Woohoo!

What is WRONG with you? How can you HATE trip planning? Silly boy.

I am still tweaking our December trip, but I know which ADRs I will book. I will be up at 5 AM CST on Sept. 4 to book them online. If THAT doesn't work I will phone from my cell AND my land line at 6 AM EST. If I still can't get what I want I will e-mail the restaurant manager and see if he can pull some strings for me. He doesn't know me, but he DID give me his card, so that means I can e-mail him, right?

It's all about the planning. You must have a Plan, and a Back-Up Plan. And maybe even an Alternate Back-Up Plan.

Did I mention that it is driving me BATTY that I can't buy our plane tickets for next June because DH doesn't have his vacation dates secured yet? They are a good price right now. I want to BUY them! And I want to book ADRs for June, too! NOW! I want to book them NOW!
I think you are not taking this trip to DL seriously enough! You should have PLENTY of time to do everything. You just have to PLAN!!! You are SOOO lucky to have the opportunities this trip is providing! DO NOT SQUANDER THEM! PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!!!!

I would offer to help you but I have never been to DL and I don't know anything about the D23 event. Sorry.

Yeah we decided all of the things we are going to be doing is enough for this trip, so we're planning on the Animation Studios tour with his friend the next trip. If things work out ok, we might try a Christmas trip or one at the beginning of next year to work it in.

House thing is coming along ok, with the exception of the roof needing either re-shingled or replaced completely. The inspection for that is today.

Finally got all of our stuff from Disney Vacations in UPS. I hate it that they wait until 2-3 weeks before a trip to send you all of your vouchers. Of course we were more excited about the Disney luggage tags.
