Omaha steaks is offering free shipping on some combos and I was going to get one for my inlaws.

Anyone tried the food? Is it worth the money?

If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I just had them sent to my parents , in laws and brother in law. We bought some last year and had no complaints. Not sure about the actual value, but they are good and make a nice gift.

Tasty, but overpriced and tiny! Yummier steak at Wegmans and Whole Foods, by me.

We have done Omaha Steaks alot in our family. We enjoy them. I will say that one time we got a package deal and the potatoes were awful. So when they called I told them we did not enjoy the potatoes at all and they gave me a credit for that portion. They have excellent customer service. Enjoy!

I order about every 6-8 weeks.

I am always trying to get the best "deal", but their prices seem confusing sometimes.

One thing we really like is the pot roast.... I really only order steaks and the pot roast.. I got sick of buying steaks locally and spending lots of $$, and them being awful.

I also buy some meat at Costco though, and it is very good as well. I should try Wegmans I guess based upon an earlier post. (must drive 30 minutes to get to one though)

We have an Omaha Steaks retail store nearby and I sometimes take advantage of their specials when they have a good one. If you don't have a discount, they are pretty pricey but they do have pretty good deals occasionally on combos in the store (not sure about online). We like their meats, although as someone else said, they are not huge but are reasonably sized single servings.

Over priced but good and you have to ask to be put on their do not call list otherwise they will call several times a week trying to sell you stuff.

The steaks are really good. I only buy the sale items but have been very happy with them. Just be aware that they make lots of sales calls to offer to sell you more stuff. Like every other day. I wasn't thrilled about that part.

They are OK..not great. Pretty pricey for tiny product. I've never had them call me though.

Thanks! I will give them a try! And I will ask to be put on the do-not-call list! Thanks for the tip :)

I wouldn't buy them because of the prices, but my brother sends me a box every year for Christmas. The steaks and pork chops are good, but I really dislike their hot dogs. They're very thick and not particularly tasty. Given my choice, I'll buy a NY strip, Ribeye or Sirloin steak - the filet mignon cut wouldn't be my first choice.

The assortments my brother sends used to include a little plastic cutting board and a knife, which I didn't need, so I donated them to a shelter. The cookbook has some recipes that I've tried and liked.

For the same amount of money, you could go to a local butcher and get a more "pertinent" gift. If you're going to visit them, you could bring things that are a little pricey for their budget, like lamb chops or sausages. Wrap them for the freezer so they can just put them away for another day.

I have friends who bring bagels from a favorite shop in their neighborhood whenever they go to visit family that moved away. A taste of home is nice.

Weird gifts, I know, but they're always appreciated.

I asked my dad if he enjoyed his Father's Day steaks from there and he said, eh...not really. He said he's had better, so I decided not to order from there.

I made the mistake of not remembering that he has my uncle raise a cow for him and has it butchered. He is quite spoiled by fresh, good cuts of beef.

This time I ordered Maine lobster tails from Lobstergram. Quite expensive, but now I combine Father's Day and Christmas together. He said he'll let me know if he likes them or not.

I am in NJ too - Wegmans in Bridgewater is my meat secret weapon! I have never been disappointed by their meat and seafood. Whole Foods in Madison and Verona are hit or miss (except for their pre-packaged organic/kindly raised chicken), and A&P meat is . It will be crazy in Wegmans the next couple of weeks with people getting their Xmas meat/fish orders, but it is worth a trip to stock up!

Love them! My DH buys them for all his business associates.

Their beef jerky is AMAZING!

I find the steaks overpriced and small. My husband sat at the table last time we had the top sirloin and ended up eating 2 all by himself. They're definitely on the small side.

Drive the 30 minutes.....
I have one about 5 minutes away :lmao:
thye have a counter and prepacked... the counter is the same price as the prepacked if you buy 4 or more. Make them the same day.... never had a bad staek or for that fact bad meat from wegmans.... thier hams are amazing as well pricey but well worth the money. The steak prices are inexpensive for the quality you get when you buy 4...

I've ordered from them on a couple occasions. Good quality, tasty but definitely pricey. If you are used to "normal" sized portions they are perfect size, but most people think their portions are small. The twice baked potatoes are very yummy.

I haven't tried Omaha Steaks, but I have tried Lobster Gram. My mom adores these! They are a Discover cash back partner, they take restaraunt.com certificates, AND sometimes have some good deals.
