I am thinking about getting this camera.....any opinions?

My Kodak z series was dropped (all 3 DD's claim they didn't do it!) and needs to be replaced.

I would like at least a 12x optical zoom and something that takes decent pictures in low light conditions. Pictures taken indoors at night (even with lights on) always seemed to turn out dark.

The Olympus SP-590UZ was recommended by the guy at the local camera store.

Read through this. The Olympus performed fairly well. Although I have to admit I am semi-disgusted with most any P&S's ISO performance nowadays. Personally if I was buying a P&S I'd give up the zoom range and go with the soon-to-be-released Canon S90 which looked FANTASTIC at high ISO. We're talking ISO 1600 looks to be usable. Pretty incredible.
