Well I've had my eye on the 50mm f/2 for a few months, since before Christmas. Now when I've decided to pull the trigger on it, I can't find it in stock anywhere! Adorama's been out since around Christmas, and I think B&H has also.
Amazon was out of stock but got a few more in the other day and now they're out again. I don't want to pay more than $450 for it and I can only find it for $500 and more. I just checked Wolf Camera and they have every lens I think Oly makes EXCEPT for the 50mm. J&R is out of stock and they list it as a clearance item.
I read the dpreview forums and nobody has mentioned it being hard to get. I'm watching a couple on ebay so maybe that's an option, or else I'll just have to wait until Amazon gets more in.
The price has also gone up at some of the sites -- Adorama had it for $404, but now they're $449 although they sell it bundled with a few things for $415 still. But if they don't have it that doesn't help me!
Does anyone know anyplace else I can check out?
Sort of comes with the Oly system, although the 12-60 is very good, but even with that one, it was still hunting a bit last night until I locked on to a higher contrast area. I really want the 50 for the macro capability -- I guess I'm looking ahead to spring and summer waiting for those flowers and insects!
Isn't the EVOLVE announcement this week? Or did I miss it? No E5?

I'm not interested in an updated 620. I'd really like the E-30 or its successor but I'll wait until Oly announces their intentions about the 4/3 format (I'm not completely sold that they plan to keep it alive). No sense investing $$ into a potentially dead format.
So far so good with the 520. I took it out for the first time yesterday. No matter what, I'll keep it as a second body. The wireless flash capabilities are really intriguing me, so I'll need to start looking for some additional FL36R's or 50R's
It never ends
I plan on the 50mm being my last major purchase before upgrading my body in about 15-16 months. My car will be paid off then and with two months of car payments I can buy whatever model they have then.
No it never does end! I'm finding that out.
If I were to choose now, it would probably be the E30, but I'm hoping the new models will have video. I think every other system has it now, don't they?
Just ordered the 50mm!B&H got it back in stock and it should be here by Friday. Anxiously awaiting spring and summer now so I can get pics of the bugs and flowers!
