Olympus Battery Charger Question...

I'm going to post this in the photography section, too.


I cannot find the charger for my camera. The last time I saw it was when I was in the hospital after I had Lucas. It could be anywhere now.

So, I went to the Olympus website and the charger I need is out of stock. I really want a charger ... I keep wanting to take pictures of my kid and I can't!

So, there are the obviously non-Olympus cheapo chargers on EBay. Is there any reason to be wary of these? My DH wants me to wait it out and hope we find the charger soon. He's afraid those cheapie chargers will hurt the battery.

Anyone know? TIA.

I've ordered 2 different cheapie Olympus chargers from different vendors on ebay and have gotten the incorrect item both times. After huge hassles on both occasions, I finally got what appears to be the correct item, but it was still kind of a giant PITA to deal with (haven't tested my replacement yet because while I was waiting for it to get here, I found my original charger). I'm not sure where the breakdown happened, but it looks like there may be some confusion on their end in thinking that chargers for cameras with similar model numbers may be interchangeable. While that would be nice, it ain't true. I was ordering for Olympus Stylus 820s (one for me and one for my mom), and both times I got chargers for (I think) the Stylus 840. They're just slightly different enough not to work at all. Argh.

I would call/go into a local camera store (one that's just photography, not Best Buy/etc, preferably not Ritz/Wolf either, a local place) and see if they have one or can help you. All the ones I've been too are very helpful.

Why not wolf/Ritz? they are camera stores and that is where I got my charger. You may be refering to their online sight? They have street stores. I walked into wolf street store and they had it.

battery plus has the olympus charger for 45$. I have a fuji z20 and it's interchangeable with the olypmus battery Li40B. And even though I wasn't able to find a charger at Best buy or staples their chargers ran in the same price range.

I would check staples.com, they had quite a lot of selection and some chargers that are universal.
