I just realized that we'll be cruising when the opening ceremonies are televised ...do the ships show these things? That would be pretty cool to watch with all of our new closest friends!

I would imagine Diversions will show the Olympics. They have many TVs and had a number of different thing playing when we were onboard. Just be aware that if the Opening Ceremonies are during a popular show in Rockin Bar D, they overflow EVERYONE into Diversions to watch the show on the biggest screen. It really ruined our ...."Adults hanging out in the sports bar"....evening.

A true Olympics fan would never dream of booking a cruise during the Olympics! :teeth: I love DCL but Olympics are only once every 4 years!

My wife is already mourning her loss of control over the TV. (She controls it the other 201 weeks between Olympics so my sympathy is limited.)

I'm not so sure about them showing it onboard....since it's on NBC...not a Disney owned company, its very unlikely. I know that NBC is not one of the channels in the rooms.

You can always hope for the best..... ;)

I didn't realize the Sports bar was off limits to kids? Is there anywhere that kids can watch a game? Like a Cardnal's baseball game? DS 11 will really miss watching sports for a week. Are they televised on the room TV? Thanks.:D

Planned everything a year ago (even coordinated friends schedules) but forgot about the once every four years olympics! We'll get to see the swimming (finals start sat night) but love those opening ceremonies! Somehow recording does not feel the same......
