What is this? How does it work? Can someone explain it please?

I'm sorry...I just don't get this one. Is this a new event...I don't ever remember seeing anything related to this.

ever watch the team pursuit cycling in the summer games? Probably something like that.... two teams start on opposite sides of the rink.... team that finishes the set number of laps fastest wins (or if they overtake the other team before finishing all the laps).

Nope - never seen it before. I just don't get it. I wouldn't get the cycling team pursuit either. I'll probably need to lump this in with synchronized diving and other sports I just don't "get". Sorry - diving, speed skating and cycling really are not team sports...of course, that is JMHO. Your opinion may differ!
