Disclaimer: I know very little about Universal.

Is Ollivander's a good place for preschoolers? My son loves "wizards" and "magic" but doesn't know much about Harry Potter yet. TIA!

Ollivander's is basically a show where about 20 people stand in the back of a shop and watch the wandmaker choose a wand for an audience volunteer wizard.

The new wizard is asked to try a couple of spells that don't work and then they find the true wand for the new wizard. It is short and cute and would probably hold the interest of the preschooler.

You should watch the first movie together. Like watching Disney movies together before going to Disney, that would make the HP areas come more to life. :) Ending is a bit scary for a few seconds- maybe just start fast forwarding when they get to the room
With the mirror. :) My ds2 watched it that age though and was fine. When you have older siblings you watch things on the early side sometimes. :)

So the kids dont get to pick the wand they want then the Wandmaker (Univ) wants them to buy it?

One person is pulled from the crowd of 20 for this wand choosing and no you do not need to buy it. You can just walk into Olivanders and pick any wand you want. There an Olivanders in Diagon Alley and one in Hoggsmead. The "show" is not mandatory to go in either.

Ahhh. Good to know. I was assuming all 3 of my kids would get to take part as the participant.
