Hi
what do people think of Olivias?
we are staying at SSR sop thought we'd get the boat over.
Any info woiuld be great
Thanks
Ruth

our family went last september out of three adults no one was impressed with the food. Our server was exellent however the food was not. We were the only people in the restaurant when we were there last september.

We tried it one night while staying at OKW. Neither hubby nor I were impressed with the food at dinner time, service nothing to crow about either.

For breakfast, completely different story...ok breakfast and much better service.

We ate breakfast there last December, but we were staying at OKW. I would not make the trip there just for Olivia's...while I've had worse food at WDW, there are much better options. The service was fine, but the food was so-so. I'd try something else...

I agree. We ate there last trip and the service was very slow and the food was OK. We were there for breakfast and I have had better at most other Disney restaurants.

Whenever we stay at OKW, which is most of the time, our kids DD11 and DS7 insist on at least one meal at Olivia's. The food isn't spectacular, but certainly isn't horrible either IMO. We usually pick a time when we aren't in a hurry to get somewhere else, so if the service is a little slow, who cares. ::MinnieMo

We ate dinner there in Dec. 05 and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. We wanted to get away from the parks and take it easy for awhile and it worked out great. Some in our group were overloaded with the park atmosphere and we were able to eat and visit. I've also had breakfast there and it was fine-just your basic breakfast food.

We ate there May 06.

The food was good but not great.

What we didn't really like was the restaurant itself. It felt too "open and light" (like dining in the middle of my office because it was so bright) and was really noisy despite being less than half full.

We ate there in April 06. We thought it was excellent. I liked sitting on the patio eating our dinner. Very relaxing. Only one annoying thing...we were on the DDP and were too stuffed for dessert. We wanted to take our cake to go and they wouldn't allow it. We ordered it anyway, took 2 bites then asked for a to-go container. That, they were fine with!

If you are going to be at SSR I would give Turf Club a try.

Olivia's is nice but as others have said, nothing to get excited about. Pre-DDP they used to offer an interesting menu with a "Floribbean" flair. Unfortunately they are victims of the watered down menus just like everyone else.

It's been a while (Feb 2006) but we loved Olivia's!

We arrived without ADR's (lunch) just resort hopping and figured we'd give the place a shot. Although the restaurant was busy, we were seated within 5 mins. (a nice window seat to boot!) Our waiter was probably the highlight of the meal! Dominic went right into his act, asking if we were ready for our usual, a double boiler maker:lmao: (obviously we never met him, nor had been there before;) ) a nice ice breaker:thumbsup2 . The place is fun and funky, a combination of the tropics and island kitsch. The food is pretty much typical pub grub, so don't set your expectations on gourmet. The drink selection was fun and the specialty beers were a big hit with me!

Try it, who knows you may just find a new favorite (as we did)

We ate there in 2005 and it was terrible. Food was cold and service was no better. It is the only WDW restaurant that I will not go back to. Let's hope they got there act together.
