Olivia's 3rd Birthday Extravaganza! DDxP,BBB and PP!Oh my! Our 12/10 TR! **Finished**

Great update! I love all of your photopass pics! I wanted to meet the characters at AK in their Christmas clothes, with their cute trees, but of course, my DH didn't want to! :confused3 I love the picture of Olivia hugging Mickey, I'd frame that if I were you! :lovestruc

I love that pic too! There is one later in the TR that is even better....you will just have to wait and see it!

I ended up making all my pics huge too in Photobucket but I didn't realize it till I was almost done. :headache: I'd chosen the one that says best-something-or-other and now they're all massive.

I love the picture with Olivia hugging Mickey -- soooo cute! I wanted to go to Camp Mickey Minnie for meets but George would have run screaming! :rotfl:

You have some really great photopass shots!

I love Camp Mickey Minnie but we only saw Goofy there this year, he was the only one we missed last year

Those are some great Photo Pass Pictures. Olivia did good on her first one Love FotLK it's a great show and on our not to miss list.

I think I just might give up and let them be big for this TR, and use Megan's awesome knowledge for next time!

I love that pic too! It is one of my top 10 from the trip! I think when I finish the TR, I will go back and do various top 10 favorite things, pictures being one of them, and that pic will surely make the list.

Would you believe that this was the first time we have EVER gone to meet the characters in Camp Minnie Mickey!? I honestly think the only time we went on this trip is because all the characters were in their holiday outfits!

I have to say, that I am glad we did the PP this trip, we got some amazing shots! FotLK is such a great show! We never get tired of seeing it!

What a great start with your pp pics. You really scored just in the am at AK. :thumbsup2 The magic shot of Olivia and Tinker Bell is adorable.

Hope your Christmas was blessed with family and friends. :santa: It's so nice to finally have a lazy morning in my pj's. We'll go sledding this afternoon to burn off some energy.

love all the pics, looks like a great time at the AK- so sad we missed FOTLK and the camp minnie mickey characters- definitely on the MUST list for next time.

We definitely got our $99 worth with the PP pics this trip! I made sure to seek them out to get as many pics as possible. I love the Tink shot as well! It is definitely one of my favorite shots of the trip, especially because of the antics going on while trying to get the shot!

Our Christmas was wonderful! It was pretty low key, but nice and relaxing! I wish we could go sledding here!

Thanks! We had a great time at AK, didn't do everything I wanted (but that is ok, there is always next time). I'm sad you missed FotLK too! It is just such a great show!

We wound up with 312 pictures from the PhotoPass photogs. Lots of duplicates, but that's ok, I get to pick the best ones to get printed. I wanted to get Captain Hook, but couldn't find a photographer near Pirates of the Carribean., Also forgot to get Mickey Balloon pic. Oh well, maybe next time, although that's quite a ways away.

I think before edits we had right around 500 PP pics! I knew we had a lot taken, but was shocked at 500! :scared1: We had a few duplicates, but not too many really. We didn't end up with the Captain Hook picture either. Same story, no photographer! We did get the balloon shot though. I kept trying but nobody was able to do it! Finally on our last full day I found a photographer to do it for us! I pretty much got every shot I wanted, which is good b/c I don't know when we will do to PP again...I am thinking about every other year.

Wow, I thought I had alot at 312. I didn't see as many photographers as I thought I would.

When I last left off, we had finished all the character greetings in Camp Minnie Mickey, and were heading towards Asia and lunch-our first meal on the Deluxe Dining Plan!

Our ADR was for 1:30 at Yak and Yeti, but we arrived early, around 1:15. We checked and were called within about a minute! Yeah! We were seated on the first floor, at the table closest to the hallway to the bathroom (which was fine). While we were waiting for our server to come (which seemed like it took forever-but it was really about 10 minutes), Olivia decided that playing with the sugar packets was more fun than coloring on the menu. I can't blame her though, the kids menu didn't come with crayons, just a golf pencil....:confused3

Our server finally came and took our drink order: Diet Coke for me, Coke for Toby and lemonade for Olivia. When he came back with our drinks, we ordered our appetizers. I had been dying to get the green bean fries, and Toby ordered the Pot stickers (with the assumption that I would share my green bean fries with him). It was at this point that I told Toby that I planned on taking pictures of everything we ate.... It's a good thing he was not taking a drink at this point, because I am pretty sure he would have spit it out at me from laughing so hard. Yep, I told him that I knew it sounded a bit weird, but my DIS friends would appreciate it! He was actually totally fine with it, but still laughed when the food came and I actually took the pics!

Both appetizers were really good! I could have made a meal out of either! Olivia wasn't particularly fond of either, and probably took about 2 bites.

Just after we finished (well we didn't finish, there was some left) our appetizers, our entree's arrived. We bother ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken and planned on sharing with Olivia.

(Sorry, there was already a couple of bites taken...:rolleyes1)

We both loved this! The chicken was perfectly cooked and didn't have too much batter/crust on it that would have made it too tough/crunchy. Olivia's favorite thing was the rice! I had to force her to eat one whole piece of the chicken! I think we came pretty close to cleaning our plates, and there was maybe just some rice and appetizers left. Once our server took our plates we put in our dessert order and waited for it to come. I ordered the Fried Wontons and Toby got the Cheesecake.

Once again, both were really good! Toby tried my wontons, and did not like them at all! He said it was the sauce that he did not care for. I'm not a huge cheesecake fan, but his was pretty good. Olivia picked at both, but mostly ate the fruit.

After we finished it was time for a potty run, so I took Olivia while Toby took care of the check. On the way out of the bathroom, Olivia told me to take her picture with "this guy", so I of course did!

Review:
I would definitely eat at Yak and Yeti again! All of our food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the servers were really good as well (after the initial 10 minute wait for one to come to our table). Our total came to $77.15 (of course we didn't pay that since we were on the DxDP).

Up next: The Safari, more PP and characters: Finishing our day at Animal Kingdom.

Yeah, I've seen it at least 3x before, so no biggie, but Will hasn't seen it yet. Plus, it would have been fun for MIL and LIndsey, but we simply ran out of steam by like 4pm at AK and never made it over. I know we will go next time. Did you guys do Nemo? I haven't done that one yet and want to try it too.

Love the food pics- yummy! so sad I barely took any food pics this time. We ate at the counter service Yak and Yeti for the first time and it was really good too. Those desserts look amazing! Were the potstickers anything like the ones at Ohana?

good update!!! I also enjoyed the meal that we had there a few years ago! I've always gotten the chicken at the outdoor CS and when I attempted to order it at the indoor one, I was told it's the same thing as the outdoor one and that I should try something different lol (since we were on the DDP too!) . I got the Mahi Mahi fish and it was wonderful! It was a few bucks more I think so I guess overall, his tip was higher because of that but I'm glad I went with something new and if I would have gotten the chicken, it would have been like the outdoor CS which is also very good!!

Mmm, now I'm hungry. The chicken looked really good.

The chicken was really good! I wish there was a semi-decent Chinese place around here, I would get it for dinner tonight!

We have managed to see the FotLK show on every trip we have taken with Olivia, she loves it! I think Olivia would protest if we tried to skip it, so at least Will doesn't know what he is missing yet!

This is the first trip where I have really taken food pics! I have taken a few here or there, but I really tried to get them all this time around. I'm pretty sure the potstickers were the same as Ohana, the only difference possibly being the sauce. I liked them at both places though.

I haven't heard from anyone who disliked Y&Y, so I was glad that our experience was good. Thanks for the tip about the chicken being the same at the outdoor service!

Mmm Yak and Yeti looks so good! I really might have to go eat there on my next trip, I keep seeing such great reviews! :thumbsup2 Those Fried Wontons look awesome, what does the sauce taste like?

mmmm that food all looks good, I think I am going to gain weight just reading your report. I am considering doing the deluxe plan for next year, do you think it is worth it?

I was an update behind, but your day at AK sure got off to a great start....love the photopass pics. You guys are such a photogenic family:goodvibes

Yak and Yeti looks delicious... and your story of taking pictures of the food made me laugh. I did this on our last trip, and my bf thought it was strange at first but ended up joining in on it within a couple of days.

Can't wait for more!
