My DD was 2.5 last Sept for our trip and was still nursing in the morning and at night before bed. She also nursed to sleep for naps.
At the parks, for naps, she usually would just fall asleep when she was tired, but sometimes, if she were extra cranky, she would need that "nursey" to get her to sleep. We just found a quiet place (once we did use a nursing room at the babycare center), or a dark ride, and in 2 minutes, she was out.
At night, she usually held on until we got to the room (though she did fall asleep a couple of times on the bus, and once or twice I actually nursed her on the bus on the way back to Pop, after the driver turned off the lights.
She's still going strong with the before bedtime nursing, though she tells me that when she's three she won't need nursies anymore.....we'll see. Who knows...maybe she'll still be going strong this Sept?? Okay...I have to admit that I'm hoping she's done by then. We've had a good go, and I wouldn't trade our nursing relationship for anything...no regrets!...however, it would be kind of nice to have 'the girls' back to myself again. I'm sure when the day comes, I'll shed a few tears that it's over, though.
Kudos to all of you moms for your extended nursing!
