Sorry for asking what seems like such an easy question...

But we are going with a family that has two kids, aged 10 and 12, and we are planning dinners at Yachtsman, Artist Point and Brown Derby.. Will they be able to order of the kids menu??? Not only would it save money, the food there is more in line with that they like..

If you are on the DDP they won't be able to use an adult TS credit for a kids meal, but you can pay OOP.

No DDP? No problem. My DS10 orders off the kids menu all the time and last year DD then 13 ordered from the kids menu. On a trip a few years ago my BIL ordered off the kids menu because he's a picky eater

Actually you can use an adult TS on DDP for a child's meal. We do it every year with our child. She was 10 the first year we went and she also prefers the kids entrees in the majority of the restaurants.

glad to hear this! I know at certain restaurants, my dd10 will only want whats on the kids menu!

They still asked my DS17 last year if he wanted a kids menu (which must mean there's a lot of picky 16-year-olds), of course he finds it pretty offensive.

I am 19 years old and I order off the kids menu at some places at Disney.

We eat at Akurshus (sp) every trip we go on and I eat off the kids menu, which I suggest for pickey teens.

A lot of the food is VERY different. On the kids menu they have a grilled chicken breast that comes with corn and potatoes. This is what I normally eat.

A suggestion if you are on the DDP: If you have an older child that prefers a kid's menu meal, pay out of pocket. Using an adult credit for a kid's meal is almost never worthwhile, and after a few meals you will have enough credits for a signiture restaurant. We have done this many times with our daughter, now 12, who is a picky eater. Unfortunately she is starting to venture off the kid's menus.

We ate off the kids menu several times a few weeks ago. Sometimes they charged the kids price, sometimes more :confused3
