Thursday night is Bike night, Kool Kats is a pretty good restaurant.

We often Rv at Tropical Palms which is right behind old town and LOVE to get Flippers pizza (which will basically be your neighbor at Comfort suites) There are some great little shops at Old Town and nice to just stroll around, especially if it's Saturday when the old cars are there. For shopping, I prefer the Lake Buena Vista mall to the Premiuim outlets. They have some great stores ( Vanity Fair, Nike, Gap....) The premium stores weren't my cup of tea as far as "name brands" it's also farther away and I felt we were going to die numerous times just trying to park! Have a great time!!

Just wanted to say that we stayed in one of the cottages at TP in 2001 and absolutely loved it!!!!!

Is TP still as nice as it was back then?

We really enjoyed walking around Old Town - such neat little shops..

Is this every Saturday night all year?? We are going in March and I think this is something my teen boys might like.

Yes, and they even have a smaller one on Friday nights. They will often have groups. Two years ago we were there and the Mini club was there as well. Lots of minis.

Regarding Columbia Restaurant prices: the estimate above ($30-$40 per person) is pretty accurate from our experience.

I discovered them when my wife brought me some coffee she'd picked up at the airport on a business trip to Florida. I enjoyed the coffee, so discovered the restaurant when trying to figure out how to reorder. The cookbook (Pacheco) is excellent and well worth the money (a good gift, too). The newer book is interesting, but is more of a history than cookbook and most of the recipes were in the original cookbook. The service was excellent. I recommend going. In fact, we'll be there in two weeks.

Last time, I had the filet steak salteado and loved it. I forget what my wife had as an entree, but she loved the Lula Mae's salad so much that I had to figure out how to approximate the dressing for it, since it's the one recipe that they don't publicize at all - I forget exactly what I did, but it's a modified Caesar dressing.
