any one do the old town trolley tour in key west what all do you get to see

We did the trolley on our own and loved it. We took it as far as stop #8 which was near the Southernmost Point. From there we walked to the butterfly conservatory, Hemmingway's House and then up Duval street. It takes you to the far side of the island so you get a good luck at more than just the area by the ship.

I recommend it.

Just did the Old Town Trolley last week. We have one here in San Diego. It is a great way to see and learn about the history of Key West. I recommend it too. :)

we did it on our trip to washington DC and just wondered if it was the same lots of information given

We did the trolley tour in April (although we were not allowed to got off on our tour) and it was fabulous! I thought it would be okay but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Key West is much more beautiful than I thought and has so much history. The plants, flowers and trees are just wonderful to see. It was nice and cool on the trolley (not airconditioned, just a nice breeze through the windows) and the guide was hilarious (this probably had a lot to do with the tour being so enjoyable). I highly recommend the tour, especially if you can get on and off at the different stops.

Unfortunately we didn't have the same good experience last October that other posters here have had. Maybe it would have been different if we booked it through Disney, but we booked it on our own to save a few dollars. Bif Mistake!!! I can't remember the exact stop, but we got off the trolley early on in the tour to see Margaritaville and have a quick drink. We returned to the trolley stop to await the next trolley so we could get back on and go to the butterfly museum. Well, at least six trollies past us. We waited almost 2 hours before one stop ped and picked us up. We were not alone either. There was another couple also waiting. The gentlemen with the other couple kept calling the trolley company and received nothing but the run around. When we finally got back on the trolley, we were afraid that it would be too late to stop at the butterfly museum. We thought that we definately wouldn't get picked up again. Upon returning from the tour, we complained to deaf ears. Apparently many of the trollies are on cruise excursions and will not stop to pick up passengers. My DDs were very disappointed that they didn't get to see the butterflies. If we had known better we wouldn't have gotten off until the stoop for the museum, but the company advertises that you can get on and off with no problems.

The tour part of the ride was informative, but I wouldn't recommend doing this on your own.

Again I would like to mention that anyone that is interested in having information on Key West, is more than welcomed to send for all the info I have on my hometown - it will give you a heads up before you get to Key West - there are no strings attached, there is nothing in it for me except that you know something about Key West before you get there - it has coupons, discounts, map, etc - I also always tell you to be very careful with the tee shirt shops - they WILL GET YA if they can - I should know tho as an ol' conch, they got me but I was able to do something about it - I sincerely believe the information is worth the little cost you have which is a large manilla, self addressed envelope and the postage to send it to you.
Norm and I will be going "home" next month so if you are not sailing until AFTER July, just wait or you can send for it and make sure you write your sailing date on the outside of your returning envelope - this will let me know if I have to get it to you from Key West or here in Cape Canaveral.
Glad to help.
Always
Shirley
