We have been many times in May but never the week of Memorial Day. We have been so many times that really we just enjoy being in the parks and laying at the pool. We are foodies too and eat at all the good restaurants...but still wondering

what did we do...haha...We are going May 24-31...week of Memorial Day

how bad will it be? Summer crowds yet? how hot usually...

are we nuts haha....we will have fun anyway but would love any input.

:thumbsup2

we are on the same wagon as you! we usually go first week in May but this year are going 25th to 31st...I would love to know how things are at that time too..we are a tad worried..lol

I think we are spoiled going in beginning of May but we couldn't do it this year

This will be our fourth year at that time. :goodvibes
Crowds - the days leading up to the weekend are not bad at all. Needless to say, once the holiday weekend hits, the crowds grow. We never find them to be crazy, but you'll need a plan. We do avoid MK on the Monday holiday. And if you are not interested in Star Wars weekends, then avoid DHS on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We love the weather this time of year. High 80's -90's. The humidity isn't brutal yet. We have been lucky to have very little rain. Last year we had the most with a few showers and one completely washed out rain day.

we arrive on Sat and first day in parks is Sunday

I'm very curious to hear more as well...just go APs and trying to find another time to go next year and because of DS school we are left with Presidents Week, Easter vacation or Memorial Weekend.

We kinda like the idea of Memorial Day Weekend - If we do this DS will miss 3 days of school. I'm thinking it would be best if we arrive the Tuesday night before Labor Day and come home on Labor day. Or we could arrive the Thursday night before Labor Day and leave the Wed. after Labor Day. Both options give us 5 full days in parks with DS missing 3 days of school (which wouldn't be too bad as it will be after all the state tests and about 3 weeks before school ends). But it sounds like the first options will give us 2 -3 days of lower crowds. What do you think?

My vote is for the earlier the better. We would have liked to come in a little earlier and leave earlier than the 28th..but the flights were crazy for us on any other days.

We went at the end of May last year. Here's a few tips from our experiences:
1. Stock up on disposable rain coats (the $1 kind at Walmart). You will use about 1 a day. Usually every afternoon it rained for about an hour or so. Not a big deal if you are prepared.
2. When it wasn't raining it was in the 90s. It was hot.
3. If you aren't a Star Wars person, steer clear of DHS Fri-Sun as another poster recommended. There will be very high crowds there during those times.
4. If you aren't interested in Disney villians & don't care about experiencing the 24 hr special event, then I'd steer clear of MK on Memorial Day. They're open 24 hrs that day though so if you go very late at night you probably won't find lines.
5. Outside of these special events I've mentioned about, the crowd levels weren't that bad. Yes, it was busy & always had crowds, but it was tolerable. Use the rain to your advantage & keep on going. A lot of people take off to the hotel when it starts raining. That means smaller or no lines at the attractions.

We were there last year from 5/28 to 6/4. It was crowded but manageable. RD at MK was a must. We did everything we set out to do and had a great time. It's hot and it will rain some but we're from the south so that wasn't anything unusual for us. We have another trip scheduled this year for right after Memorial Day.
