OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I totally agree.

I'm kind of a private person and don't usually share a lot of my personal life on public forums, but reading your stories is getting to me. In 2010, my husband lost his mother, two brothers and his sister ALL to cancer in just ten months. Yes, that's right, his Mom and three siblings in ten months. I buried my brother-in-law on my 40th birthday....So, what did we do? I made a phone call to Disney, booked the Beach Club for a week despite the fact that we couldn't afford it, and the four of us took off to Walt Disney World. Talk about healing. It was truly the best trip we have ever had, believe it or not, just really celebrating life and being together.

Sorry, I know that is MAJORLY depressing and I won't say anything else, but wanted to share that Disney really is a special place, for lots of reasons.

OK....let's talk about balcony views and bad mousekeeping!;)

Thanks for sharing that, I know it's depressing and not a fun topic, but the magic of WDW can really be the best source of healing when there really isn't anything left to do but be sad. :( Maybe that's the one big thing we all have in common?? :grouphug:

Wow! So glad you could escape to Disney and its healing magic. I am unemployed right now (English teacher who wasn't asked back after 3 years at this high school) and spend most days searching for jobs and sending resumes. But it's made me jump into our September WDW trip planning with a fervor. SO looking forward to the escape in 39 days!

We will be there at the same time:thumbsup2!!! I will be the frazzled looking mom of 2 very busy boys, who will be in dire need of gray goose slushies!!!!:lmao:

You can look for me too... I'll be the mom of two boys carrying TWO grey goose slushies! One in each hand!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao: :cloud9:

This will me as well in 7 weeks :lmao: Although it is my DD that will be running circles around me, not DS. After 2 boys, I was thrilled to be having a girl, but she puts my boys to shame. She is the most active, most athletic, and definitely most HYPER of my 3!

I also wanted to give my thoughts and prayers to all of you that have been touched by the "sucky" parts of life as I like to refer to it. Both my and DH's moms have been battling cancer for years, just seems to keep coming back, but they are fighters and still here. Unfortunately we have also lost several people in our lives to cancer as well as other crappy things. Before my mom was ever diagnosed with cancer my parents always took my brother and I on very memorable vacations and taught us that memories are the most valuable thing you can have in life. To this day when we are all together we usually laugh until we are crying with our memories. DH and I both feel that we want our children to have those memories as well. To us, life is about making memories that will last forever and not how much money we have in the bank.

I truly believe the old saying, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade, or Grey Goose lemon slushies in some cases :rotfl:

Princess Lily (and Jeanne too of course) are on their way. I hope we don't hear anything about a baby getting kicked off Southwest for screaming!!

I'm running around like crazy trying to make sure everything is Lily proof. And of course the vacuum died dead. Bob's working on it but it looks like we'll have to add a vacuum to the shopping list tomorrow. Jeanne, Lily and I have to go out and buy two weeks worth of Lily food, diapers, etc. I have enough for two days but I wanted to make sure we get the right stuff so the three of us will go shopping tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow night is Ohana's for dinner ... Jeanne's favorite.

Thursday is the first trip to Typhoon Lagoon.

Friday is Magic Kingdom (AM only) and her first haircut.

I will have Jeanne send pictures to Dee so you can share along with "Princess Lily's First Trip to WDW".

And I big thank you from Jeanne, Bob and I (and of course the Princess herself if she could talk) for all the many gifts and cards that have been sent for her first birthday. Tonight we will celebrate!!!

At the place in MK? My DD15mo has long, dark hair (never lost any when she was a baby and we have yet to cut it). What do they do for their first haircut? Anything special? Cost?

What IS the deal with the Grey Goose slushies? Sounds like a must at YC/BC??

Yep ... her first haircut ... they make a certificate, pictures, a celebration. You have to book it ahead of time. Lily is just getting a trim.

Teena: Sounds like a fabulous time, with the exception of the vacuum shopping. You probably have the only job where you actually want to vacation at the place you work.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned Teena:) It was lovely to meet you last week.Thank-you for showing my youngest son how to pin-trade. He told his dad all about it but when I suggested trading his badge with some of the concierge staff he was horrified as he loves his donald badge soooo much:rotfl2: Think I will have to get him some pink, girly princessy pins to trade next trip-he will be eager to get rid of those:rotfl:

:grouphug:To all those of you having a hard time. Hope things get better soon.

Sounds great Teena! I'm looking forward to the pics! I'm sure Lily will be an :littleangel: on the flight!

PhotoPass+ pics?? :-) you'll have to report back how she does! How old is she again?

Close enough! They are through the International Gateway in Epcot, France area. They have Grand Marnier ones, too. :cool1:

May have to try one... :-) they should have Disaronno ones!

She just turned one on 7/11. Her hair is out of control: blond, curly and looks like she stuck her finger into an electrical socket.
