OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Thanks for the vote. My TA keeps telling me we should do the cruise. We have never been on any cruise, so it would be great to make our first a Disney cruise.

Bob and I have done loads and loads of Disney cruises (I recommend 7 nights or longer though) as adults only. We love them!!! And what can you say about the adult only beach and bbq at Castaway Cay besides it being a little bit of heaven. It's my happy place!!!

It's so good to hear that adults only would have fun. We've not done a cruise, either.

kelleigh1, You always ask the best questions! I have learned so much from reading this thread. :thumbsup2

Teena, This winter I'm going to start reading about Disney cruises--will be a happy thing to do while it snows.

What is the Mickey T-shirt pool activity and how much does it cost ??
Is this for only children ???
One more question is there a thread that has the pool activities for the Boardwalk (July) We are staying at BCV July 20 till the 22 and then switching over to the BWV till the 30th !!!!

The Mickey T-shirt activity is making a tie-dye Mickey t-shirt (with the Hidden Mickey outline in the center). The recreation CMs have already rubber banded the t-shirt for that particular design. You get to pick your colors and apply them to the shirt. DD8 did it last September and it was $17.95. I helped her with it, it was a lot of fun, and her shirt turned out to be very cute. I saw mostly kids doing it, some with parents, but I think that anyone could do it. They wrap your shirt in plastic wrap then put it in a ziploc bag for you. When you get home, you just have to rinse it out and wash it. The longer the color stays on the shirt, the more intense it is. We charged it to the room on our KTTW card and it showed up as babysitting charges. :confused3 I would definitely recommend it.

I'll try to post a pic later.

We had never been on a cruise before either! I was really nervous about it but afterwards I was wondering why we hadn't done it sooner. And Teena is right, the adult only beach and BBQ on Castaway Cay is amazing!! We enjoyed it so much that my DH just had a Castaway Cay tattoo put on his back! Lol I'm really looking forward to our Christmas cruise next year too. We even have my parents joining us on their first ever cruise.

So I say to take your TA's advice. You won't regret it!!;)

Ahhhh...Serenity Bay!! When I worked for Disney many moons ago, a fellow CM submitted the winning name for the adult beach..Love it there!

Question about the bedding/decor at YC - On the Disney website, the photos of the YC rooms show mostly rooms with white bedding and solid navy blue curtains, but one has a blue bedspread with sail boats. Is there actually different decor in different rooms, or is one version a picture of the rooms before they were updated? We really like the look of the "white" rooms, the sail boat bed looks a little dreary.

The bedspreads with the sailboats are from before the rooms were updated. All the rooms now have the white bedding.

Does anyone know how far you can go in the lake when u rent a boat? Does it have to be just in front of the beach club? I noticed the map goes all the way over to the swan and dolphin.

Unless they have changed it, you can go all the way down by DHS.

My DH is a steak lover. We have been to Yachtsman's twice and both times we weren't happy with our meal. Oddly enough I have gone another time with a girlfriend and my Filet was outstanding. That was how I convinced my DH to try it again (the 2nd time) and it was a let down. We are staying at BCV and are looking for a great strip steak for him and filet for me. Any recommendations (other than Yachtsman?). Thanks so much, :thumbsup2 Penny

Thanks for all the responses to my SAB question. When I said "claim" chairs, I really just meant putting a towel on one while we are in the water. I never even considered that people would claim chairs at the pool then go to a park and expect "their" chairs to be there for their afternoon swim! Lol. Weirdos!

Good to know that there are lockers to use too... Do they have keys or combinations?

Here are pictures of the lockers at SAB and in the Health Club. The SAB lockers are opened using a key.

From the FAQ section:

Can I use Stormalong Bay on my checkout day?

Yes! You will still have your room key after you check out, and you still need to show it to the CMs before entering the pool area. You can store large bags with Bell Services. You may also use the lockers and showers/changing room at the Health Club (see below for pictures of the lockers in the Health Club- Men's room). There are FREE lockers available as well - get the key from PoolSide Gifts.

I am happy to announce that as of this very moment our August trip is PAID IN FULL!!!

My poor daughter was horrified when I did my World Famous "Paid In Full" dance!!

Yay!!! That is definitely worth a dance! :cool1::dance3::cheer2:

You can come here to share the joy anytime. I can't wait to have that feeling myself. :)

Shula's at the Dolphin is very good. How about Le Cellier as well? You can walk to either from BCV...

We all really enjoy Le Cellier when we went last month. We did lunch since it was 1TS and the filet was small but perfect for lunch, actually we were stuffed when we left and just snacked that night with no real dinner.

That's exactly what we did last August! For us this place is a must. We have always had a great meal here.

Oh yes, I love reading about all your trips and I remember you saying how much you love your Disney cruises.

I would never get my parents on a cruise. And they would drive me nuts. LOL. My Dad doesn't like to travel. He would never go to Disney. The best way to describe him...Archie Bunker...or to put it in Disney terms, he'd be Grumpy.

Another vote for Le Cellier! It is a must do on our list. We usually go for lunch as well since we are on the dining plan and only want to use 1TS for each of our TS meals. The filet with mushroom risotto is delicious!! And the pretzel bread disappears at an amazing rate at our table. :)

I've been reading the reports about changes to Cape May Cafe and I just wanted to check something. We have booked the Clambake because we really love seafood, we're not really interested in ribs but we'll be disappointed if there isn't plenty of fish, clams, shrimp, crab etc.

I was just hoping someone could confirm that there's plenty of seafood on offer, otherwise we might have to rethink our plans :(
