OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I don't have Mobile Magic, but I use the Touring Plans line app and I can see the wait times right now, and I am in Chicago. Launch the app and see if it works for you at home with current times. If yes, then you will be able to use it at the BC.

Mobile Magic only works within the parks, it won't work at home. But I am also curious if I will be able to check wait times for HS or Epcot while we are at BC, or if it is LITERALLY only in the parks.

4 DAYS!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana: I can almost feel the heat and smell all the lovely smells of the Beach Club. The suitcases are coming down today. I can't wait to step into the lobby. Hopefully we'll see Teena on the 4th!

Hi all. Sitting in a loud Disney Quest right now while my son does a ride and the ladies enjoy the spa.

Just wanted to post a quickie:

1) Animal Kingdom was fun, though wet yesterday. Donald's safari breakfast was fun, though we felt a little rushed. We hit Everest twice and also saw both Nemo and Lion King while also riding the Safaris, Dinosaur and Kali River. We escaped a little after 4 because of the rain.

2) We did Narcoossee's last night. We had a little seating issue but then the meal was amazing!

3) today is more of a relaxing day though I readily admit, there's very little relaxing about Disney Quest!

The app for Undercover Tourist also works at home. When you search in the app store, it doesn't say Undercover Tourist. I think it says Phunware. But if you go to their website, you will see a green frog in their logo. Look for that frog when you are in the app store.

Here's their website: http://www.undercovertourist.com/

We're going to BC for the first time in Sept. & I've read all the mentioning the noodles. What exactly is everyone referring to?
Thanks.

"Noodles" are pool floats. There is a set of them which live at the Beach Club. People sign up here to use them. When they are done with the noodles, they either pass them on directly to the next family on the list, or leave them with Beach Club Bell Services so that the next family on the list can pick them up there.

Noodles are discussed on the first page of this thread.

Thanks! I just put Touring Plans on my phone and it works. Is it accurate?
Thanks!

Thanks! Do you know if this one is accurate also? Or should I just keep Undercover Tourist, Touring Plans, and Mobile Magic. All 3 might make me nutty! :rotfl:

Best Aunt, thanks for answering this.

Here is the direct link to the info on Page 1.

Post 14: Noodle Swap

As far as I know, we are the only resort thread on the board that offers a Noodle Swap.

:goodvibes

I have all 3!! I mostly use Touring Plans. I have used their Lines app on 3 trips and have found them to be pretty accurate. I like being able to enter wait times while I'm in the parks and also use the feature that lets you time your wait and submit it. It's also great when you are having a tough day at work and need a little Disney fix.....seeing what the wait times are for Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Soarin', Toy Story Mania, and Expedition Everest give me that little boost I need!

I also use their website for their crowd calendar and loosely use it to plan our park days. I think it is also relatively accurate if you learn how they determine their predictions and always take them with a grain of salt! That's why we always have park hoppers, so we can make a switch if necessary! :goodvibes

Are you able to, or has anyone ever upgraded from a standard BC room to BCV accommodation ?

Never even thought about it but given the high occupancy rate of BCV I would say your chances are slim to none and I think Slim has left the building.

Happy Anniversary to the Noodles. 3 days ago they celebrated their 1 year Anniversary at the Beach Club! :cool1:

Hi gang, got a question that came up in another thread but figured it would probably be answered best here. I am hearing that they no longer do rope drop at Epcot and basically start letting people in the park around 15 minutes early. Is that the case with the entrance at WS as well (letting people in early)? We love walking to the park and are typically a early morning family!

We just couldn't wait until Dec 2013 for our next Disney vacation- so we booked a vacation for Nov 2-7 at YC CL (we were just there in May).:banana:

It must be the "Disney withdrawals" that make us go back so often!!!!!

Now off to plan the dinning.:cheer2:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Congrats on your fill-in trip!

:cool1:

I'll put you on the list for November.

This is our last night at BCV. We have enjoyed ourselves so much! The villa is clean and comfortable. We love the short walk to Epcot & boat to Studios. We enjoyed our dinner at Cape May as we love seafood. I only had seafood, vegetables & dessert, so I can't say how anything else was. Our server was very nice & right there w/drink refills. WiFi was used in room & lobby without issues. Love SAB! My family had a blast here!

Hi! I have a question regarding the headliner rides at DHS. We are staying at BC and I put the mobile magic app on my phone. Am I able to check wait times in DHS (or EP for that matter) while at BC? Just thinking that if we are hanging around at night and I check and see that some headliners have a low wait time, my boys may want to head over.

Mobile Magic only works within the parks, it won't work at home. But I am also curious if I will be able to check wait times for HS or Epcot while we are at BC, or if it is LITERALLY only in the parks.

Ditto on the answers for Mobile Magic. Works great in the parks. Here at Beach Club it gives general times such as long waits.

Can go one better. Here are a couple photos of the entrance this morning at 8:45. We were let in at 8:48. After a liesurely walk to Soarin we were in the inside line at 9:02.

Well this is one trip we are definitely NOT following my plan. A lot more go with the flow. Weather is dictating some of this and just doing what the gang wants is the other. Our scheduled RD day at EP turned into a “What the heck, lets go to AK. We hit the headliners early . Got some great pictures on EE and KS. We saved Kali for last. Didn’t get the drenching that we usually get.

After a rest we did our first split . Lee Ann and I hit the Yachtsman Steakhouse and DD and DGS went back to EPCOT. The Yachtsman was a great meal. Had heard great (and not so great) things about the Yachtsman. Found our it is a Steak lovers paradise. As we waited for our tables we watched the butcher trim the meat that was being served. Great food and great service.
After dinner Lee Ann and I strolled over to WS for Illuminations. Our only stop, Karamell-Küche. Grabbed the pecan caramel bar and chocolate cover pineapple. Sat on the bench in front of Germany and thoroughly enjoy Illuminations. Watched some kids that evidently had never seen it and oh were they excited. Still my favorite show at Disney World.

Yesterday was once again a plan deviation. We had EP as our planned park but late nights once again cost us. It was an early entry day and we were going to miss the opening. Soooo we decided to throw caution to the wind and go with the MK even though President Obama had plans at Contemporary for midday. Off we went. Great morning with plenty of rides and shows. Finally got a cream cheese pretzel from the Launching Pad that I had heard so much about. The presidents motorcade was coming in as we were leaving and got to sit and watch. Our bus driver was kinda excited and it filtered through the bus. It was over in about 30 minutes which wasn’t bad at all. I’ve waited longer for a bus.

Well after our rest it was off to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We elected to drive since it was pouring rain. Not bad at all. About 30-40 minutes from Beach Club to the front of Pioneer Hall. As others have said we had a blast. After the meal and show we headed back to MK. DGS and did Sorcerers of The Magic Kingdom game. It was OK. Rode Jungle Cruise. We left during first parade.

Back at BC and really feel like we have been burning candle at both ends this trip. I have not set foot in SAB. Just go, go, go……..

Not a fan of the breakfast. Even with the characters, I can't believe it is worth what they charge. Even on the dining plan, I wouldn't use a credit for ANY character breakfast. I guess I'm spoiled from the Vegas breakfast buffets. As far as character meals, we much prefer and think they are a much better value, the lunches or dinners. The only one we will not go to ever again is Chef Mickey's ... breakfast, lunch or dinner. We really really like Crystal Palace for lunch! We usually schedule it for the last "lunch" time, pay the lunch price but make it our dinner.

We did the Cape May breakfast (and dinner) and we loved the characters but for some reason did not love the food. I think I was still dreaming of the puffed french toast from Crystal Palace :cool1:

I hope you have a great trip!! Can't wait to hear everything

We've had an amazing stay. In fact, so wonderful that I have been too busy for updates. BUT I just received such wonderful care that I just to share!!!

We have already checked out. Shortly after getting to Downtown Disney for some shopping, my teenage son started to feel VERY ill. We took a cab back to BC and he planted himself on a couch in the lobby. He's not pukey, but just about as miserable as I've ever seen him. I felt bad for him! What teenage kid wants to sit in a busy lobby and be sick?? I went up to the 5th floor CL and asked if there was a more private place for him to rest. Hyacinth (a CL CM) had to call a few people, but arranged for us to have a room for him to rest in until 4pm.

Although I wish this fantastic trip was ending without this hiccup, I'm so grateful for the kindness shown to us today. I've been a Disney guest for years and I always hoped that if I REALLY NEEDED kindness, they would come through. I'm overjoyed to say they really went above and beyond today!

PS: What is the best way to let someone know how much Hyacinth's kindness meant to us?!?

I am so glad they went the extra mile for you guys! That is wonderful to hear

For us it was literally ONLY in the parks. I tried to get it walking from BC to DHS and it would not give me the information until we were actually in DHS, before that it was just the general information. We found the touring plans app to be pretty accurate during EMH at DHS

Thanks! Do you know if this one is accurate also? Or should I just keep Undercover Tourist, Touring Plans, and Mobile Magic. All 3 might make me nutty! :rotfl:

I did use all three and it did drive me nutty but in a completely good way
