OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

It's official- our family trip to Coronado Springs has now been changed to Beach Club!! :cool1: Dee, can you add me to the Be Our Guest list? We'll be there 8/26-9/2.

I had to give up free dining (so, not sure how we're going to eat:rotfl:), but with the late summer discount, I almost made it work out financially. (Ok, who am I kidding? It's going to be way more expensive- but I just couldn't imagine not going back to BC, after my sisters' getaway visit!).

Dh and dd10 don't know yet- I want to surprise them this weekend. I was thinking I could come up with some fun surprise to include w/ dh's father's day card. Any ideas out there??

Woo-hoo!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Yes, I'll add you to the list. I haven't updated it since I got back, hopefully I'll have a chance tomorrow morning. Been busy with all those post-trip activities- like my TR. :rotfl:

I would say it with salt water taffy!

See you next week! :wave2:

An old picture but one I could find with all of us included. If anyone down next week recognizes us just say hello! Mike, Lee Ann and Pierce.

lol, no way is anyone going go recognise Pierce - he must be twice the size now :lmao:

We are back from another fabulous YC CL stay!! We were in room 5150, same room as last year!! It is a garden view room, overlooking the wedding gazebo, 2 rooms away from the CL lounge- PERFECT!!! (We arrived via DME, were greeted curbside and taken right up. We did not do on-line check in, but were still completed within 5 minutes of sitting at the desk).

I have not yet uploaded any pics, but here is a brief re-cap

1) I have a picture of the ceiling fan in the YC Gazebo for the bride who wanted it.

2) Key Lime pie is definitely OFF the menu at Captain's Grille through the summer months.

3) I am ashamed to admit, but I never made it to the BC Marketplace to check out the cupcakes :flower3: (In fact, I didn't eat a single cupcake the whole trip :confused3)

4) Met Music City Mama at the Sci Fi. We were the hitchhikers in their car!!! :drive: What are the chances of that???

5) Weather was TERRIBLE the first few days. Several hours of steady rain, rather than the typical FL afternoon storm. As a result, only made it to SAB 3 times in 8 days. But during one of those trips, we rode the Jib Slide in the pouring rain- we will cherish that memory for years to come!!

6) Was able to get a fabulous rate with the bounceback at Pop Century, so we are headed back down for a long weekend in August! :cool1: Wish it was back to YC, but since its a "bonus" trip, I can't complain ;)

7) If anyone has any specific questions, please ask, but I might not be back to answer for a couple of days. There is a mountain of laundry and mail to attack first :crazy2:

Welcome back :wave2: I'm the bride - thank you for taking a picture.

OMG you didnot have a cupcake the entire trip - shame on you :rotfl: Shame about the weather, but good news on the bounceback ::yes::

You can do online checkin, but I don't think there is really any reason to.

I emailed IPO and they said that it would actually speed up checkin if I did online before getting there. They said it would still be done upstairs but it would take less time. This was a switch from 10 months ago when they advised against it. So I did. We will see on Sat if it matters.

Thank you to both of you. Still up in the air as to whether I will do the on-line check-in in 2 days.:cool1:

WsPrincess Have a wonderful trip.pixiedust:

Hello again everyone! :wave2:

I'm back on the boards and all caught up with the thread after my surgery. I've been starting out slowly, reading the BC/YC gang's trip reports and now this thread. This has kept my spirits up as I ride the roller coaster of recovery. I am very fortunate to report that I am now cancer free and with some minor concessions I am expected to make a complete recovery from a very rare type of gastric cancer.

To celebrate I have added a trip banner for my December trip. I very much look forward to reading all the questions and witty repartee as I store resort knowledge in my brain like a well fed chipmunk stores morsels in it's cheeks. I have a feeling it's time for me to make my ADR's but I will need more time for that as my brain cells slowly migrate back to the useful zone. Reading all this wonderful information is getting me primed to make the grand plan for my December trip!

In any case here is a big thank you to all who post here. :grouphug: Your musings and experiences and sharing are good for the soul!

~NM

Congratulations on such great news.:flower3::hug: Every thing else is easy peasy.:woohoo::yay::woohoo:

I definitely have the picture for you!! We saw one wedding scheduled to be there, but it had to get moved indoors due to rain :umbrella: In 4 years of going the same week, I have NEVER seen rain like we had last week. But, I am sure the locals are happy since they were in a big drought up to that point!

Did you see any teens (or chaperones) behaving badly during your trip???

Did you see any teens (or chaperones) behaving badly during your trip???

Nope! ;)

Actually, other than some drunk convention folks on the resort monorail Sunday evening, we didn't see ANY bad behavior! No little kid meltdowns, no husbands and wives arguing, no groups of cheering girls. It was a little soggy to start, but at least it wasn't crazy hot either!

Talking about meltdowns. Sunday and Monday we had more than normal in the lobby and not just kids. I think the heat and humidity might have something to do with it.

I didn't eat any cupcakes either! WTH???? LOL. Something to look forward to for next time, right?

How freaky that you guys were seated in the same car!!!! How did you discover your alter egos/secret identities????

We knew we would both be at DHS at that day. I told her to look for a tall, blonde mom with a huge pink backpack and a spiky haired 9 year old at her side. When we sat down she said "I couldn't help but notice that you are carrying a huge pink backpack..." :rotfl: And the rest is history!!!!!!!!

Teena, I bet you are right about the heat. While it was rainy/overcast, the temps were so pleasant!! And then BAM! Here came the heat!! :crazy2: Sorry we never made it to the BC side to say hello! But Sunday we spent most of the day at SAB, for fear we would never see the sun again! :rotfl2:

And how about that storm Sunday night?? In the eight years + we've been here, we've never experienced one that crazy!!! What a show!!

And how about that storm Sunday night?? In the eight years + we've been here, we've never experienced one that crazy!!! What a show!!

We were at Cali Grille for dinner, watching the clouds roll in from all sides. It was INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But what a view of the lightening from up there! And the waiter kept trying to tell me it was going to miss us! :rotfl: We hung out on the 4th floor concourse until the heavy stuff had passed and then went to MK for EMH night. The folks on the monorail kept trying to tell me that the park had closed, but it sure wasn't!!! We walked onto almost everything that night. Didn't even need a poncho by the time we walked in at 10:30pm. But I was FREEZING! It was 93 when we walked into dinner and 67 when we walked out.

And how about that storm Sunday night?? In the eight years + we've been here, we've never experienced one that crazy!!! What a show!!

Oh my gosh! That storm was sooooo crazy! We watched from the 12th floor of the CR in awe as it moved straight for us. At one point the MK went totally black for a few minutes. I have been wondering what it was like to actually be there when that happened, but I haven't seen anybody post anything about it. Maybe there were still lights on in buildings that we couldn't see? It was so eerie! I took tons of pics of lightning over the castle and I'm anxiously waiting on my DH to upload the pics so I can see how they came out.

Thank you. One more Sunday and Monday to work coming up and then off to play in Colorado. I sure hope the fires aren't going to impact anything (airport, ride to the ranch, etc.)

Teena, Have a wonderful time! Hopefully the fires won't cause any problems for you.

Whoa! Looking forward to those pics!

Im thinking that I will forget the cruise for 2014 and substitute 2 nights on the dark side (the Royal Pacific CL) at the end of a longer Disney trip. We cant use the resort airline check in because we fly international carriers, so we have to schlep our luggage anyway so missing the Magical Depress on the way home wont be the end of the world! I still think we have way too much to do in the parks that we missed to make a cruise the highlight. But a three way split seems insane... Oh well, I have about 2 years to work it out. LOL

Cruise versus Royal Pacific = IMO cruise wins hands down!
