OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I'll just have to remember that the RFID works the same as my work ID. Tap it and the door unlocks!

I'm likely to be one of those going "I can't figure this out" even though I do it every day here at the office.

Oooh me too. I may have to bring my eleasticated clip thingy to stick it in and fasten to my shorts so that I can just stretch it out to open the door. :rotfl:

As typical with my luck...I blew out my knee and will be having knee surgery to repair it in two weeks.
As much as I hate to admit it, I think I'll need a wheelchair at least part of the time we're there -

This suggestion is more to put a smile on your face and is not really serious.... Have you considered renting one of those Surrey Carts that they have at the Boardwalk and just making a break for it past Park security?

Yeah sure, you'd have to lift it over the turn styles but you did mention that you were fairly athletic, so lifting that 'two tons of fun' Cart shouldn't be a problem eh? Just think of the looks you'll get in the parks from all the scooter people who will obviously be jealous of your 'stylin' ride!

Now we'll talk about the down side. Unless you have family members willing to pedal it might be a bit tough trying to cycle with one leg. AND you'd have to cycle REALLY FAST every time Park security got close to catching up with you. Another down side is that the Surrey Cart is a pain to load on the buses, so your best bet is just to pedal all the way to Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom, which might be far.

With all that pedaling though you'd probably be hungry, so the Deluxe Dining Plan is now looking like a value for you. Also your Physical Therapist will be very impressed with your brand new 'buns of steel' and 'thigh of thunder' that you developed from your Surrey Cart adventures. Just think, if you made it all the way to Downtown Disney in that contraption you'd have plenty of room to store all your bags!

Yep, that Surrey Cart theft idea is looking like a win, win!

Here are some details on the RFID monitors at the Yacht Club.

Wow that is so cool! Thanks for posting that and thanks for that picture trip report that is in the works!

Oh yes, that is how I have mine too!

YES! YES! That's what I want!

One of my boys got the blue hair gel coloring stuff, the other went with green. Needless to say along with all of the sequin mickeys I had blue and green streaks on my shirt that day. They told us it would dry in around 20 minutes....that was slightly inaccurate ;)

Oh I so want to do CL but guess we will have to make do with our upgrade to Deluxe Dining. ;)

Laffites Landing Thanks for the great pics. I have never done CL but I am thinking our Next trip after this one, I will plan on doing CL. We are doing deluxe dining this time because we all want to do signature restaurants. And we figured doing both in the same trip would be way too much food!

If no one else in my family wants to do CL, then a solo trip may be in order!!!:rolleyes1

Glad you're having a great trip!

Laffite's Landing- thanks for the great room and CL pictures, and for the RFID info.

Keep 'em coming!!!

Thanks Robyn for the offer to peek at the mattress. Would you mind??? I have a call into SEaly hospitality b/c now I have read that even if I order that mattress from Disney, sealy has changed their inner coil and it will not be the same mattress. I have a hard time believing Disney would advertise it as such and it NOT be the same. So I will get to the bottom of it!!

Thanks Lafferty for CL YC pics.man I missed that this trip. BC CL not my thing.....I feel like that is part of the reason why my trip felt "off" a few weeks ago. Boy am I creature of habit or what????? I want to see what YES programs are offered next June...I may try that for sure....and add park hoppers..I think that will really give me some flexibility that I felt was missing a bit from this trip.....

Hi all!

Our family leaves in 20 days for our first stay at BC! We. Can't. Wait! We are spending four nights at BC and four at CSR. Each of our WDW vacations have included a stop at BC for a Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream. We would look longingly at Stormalong Bay as we waited for our table. This trip, our dream becomes a reality!

We are staying in a Water/Pool View room. I'm hoping we have a view of Stormalong Bay or of the lake.

Thanks for the great thread!

Bwahahahahahaha!!! LOVE the way you think. Those surreys seat four AND have a sunshade (I don't tan, I freckle...sigh). Think of the speed we could get that thing up to going down the long ramp to Soarin'...could be an awkward moment when we near the escalator.

Thanks for the giggle - I REALLY needed that this week. pirate:

Question about the new RFID locks: have they already be installed at the BC? And, does anyone know if a similar system is going be/already has been installed at any of the other hotels? Not that it matters for us, as we still have almost 2 months before our visit. Just kind of curious.

Live report update:

Today rocked. Walked to Dhs this morning and was riding TSM by 8:40 . NO wait. The. We hit RNR and TOT and finally GMR before heading back to BC . Was at SAB by 10:45 where DH and I hung out until about 4:30 enjoying that lazy river. Showered and sat on the balcony before headin out for the daily stroll around the world where I tried a cream cheese pretzel for the first time.yum:)I also had to show some restraint in Norway since I love the Helly Hansen stuff. None today. We then strolled around the boardwalk before stopping in the BC marketplace for sone flatbread pizzas which we ate onthe balcony.

Tomorrow we eat at Yachtsman for the first time:thumbsup2
