I'm a 50 something woman and my favorite Disney films are Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp....you get it...the oldies but goodies. Aside from the obvious attractions like PP ride and the castle...what are some of Disney World's homages to the the classics? Hidden gems?

thanks-

I can say for sure there's Cinderella's fountain (that's what I've always called it) in Fantasyland. There are water fountains around it and when you bend over to get a drink and look up, you're bowing to the princess (aka Cinderella). Children don't have to "bow". It's very cute. There's also Cinderella's wishing well on a path by the castle.

Also, Tony's Town Square is themed for Lady and the Tramp. They play the movie in the waiting area, there's a Lady and the Tramp fountain in the middle and in the back windows, you can see the shadows of Lady and the Tramp "outside" having their dinner. Even the restroom signs are Lady and the Tramp. Very cute.

They're the only ones I can think of. Hope others have more for you :)

Thank you. I love Tony's for that. This is my first solo trip so I will have more time to observe the little things that you tend to miss when conversing with a companion.

We alway stop for a photo-op at the Sword in the Stone that is in front of the carousel. I bet a lot of people don't even notice it as they're rushing by.

Also, Swiss Family Treehouse is fun, and people seem to pass right by that as well.

For old school disney you really have to know where to look. I love someone brought up the Cinderella Fountain. I love that fountain. princess:

There's a Tinker Bell stained glass window between Castle Couture (shop) and Mickey's Philharmagic.

In DHS in the Great Movie Ride building there's a carousel horse from the movie and outside you'll find movie things from the premieres (2 different windows) of Jungle Book and Mary Poppins

I had been to WDW several times before I toured the Treehouse. I was so delighted when I finally did. It's so funny how often I find that attractions I'd previously been uninterested in can turn out to be a favorite.

My family loves Splash Mountain but my girls (15,11,10) dont understand it. They dont know the story of brair rabbit and brair fox. Im 40 and just do remember parts of the movie from my youth.

remembered another one

Tinker Bell is on the trashcans in "old" fantasyland.

Also we had a thread on here awhile ago (between this summer and this January 2013) where someone listed out all of the Disney movies and people were talking about the movie references in the parks.

It was a neat thread I wish I could find it again for you

Also Lady and the Tramp are represented at POP
