I am trying to find out some info on an old restaurant that was in Epcot back in the 80's it was call the Odyssey. My husband has raved about the hamburgers in this place everytime we go to Disney and talks about how it was the best place to eat when he was kid. so does anyone have any info on the place when it closed and so forth I would love to tell him and let him know. Thanks so much....

It's been closed for years, but if I am not mistaken they reopen it each year for a Mother's Day brunch. Actually, I am not even sure they still do this...but they had until recently.

It still stands but is closed to the public and has been for some time. It is used only for special events. (The Mother's Day brunch mentioned above was discontinued a couple of years ago. The most commo n current use for the Odyssey is for the Grand Gathering dinner/dessert party event at Epcot)

We just did the international dinner grand gathering there Dec 3rd. They only do that a couple nights a week though I think. So the building isn't used much. The international dinner was great however; I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The only thing I remember about it was it was a quick way to cut into Mexico from that side of Future World without going all the way back to the middle area. ;)

Yes I remember it well. When my kids were little we used to have lunch there and the characters would come and entertain. Very cool. They had a salad that I loved, it had tuna, chicken and ambrosia (probably bad spelling!!). Yes it closed years ago and is only opened for events. I wish it was still opened. Every time we walk by there I always think back.

Enjoy The Magic!!

That was always the best place to eat. My whole family misses it. Every time we walk past it we wonder why they don't reopen it. It seems a waste to have it there and not take advantage of it. I know they use it for special occasions but it could be so much more given its size.

I found this article that might interest you:

Thanks for the article - interesting read! I was thinking the Odyssey hadn't been open for as long as I have been visiting regularly - My and my exDH's first trip was 1994 so the article cleared that up for me.

Every time we walk past it we wonder why they don't reopen it. It seems a waste to have it there and not take advantage of it. I know they use it for special occasions but it could be so much more given its size.

I wonder that myself all the time - it does seem such a waste.... :sad2:

Just my .02 :hippie:
