Hey everyone! Well, I was going through my old files the other day, and I happened to come across a folder full of photos of IOA's forgotten "Sylvester McMonkey McBean's Very Unusual Driving Machines." These pictures give a behind the scenes look at the attraction and buildings. They were originally hosted on IOACentral's site, but have since disappeared. I thought I should make them once again available to all IOA fans so I threw 'em together on a webpage that is now up for viewing. Click on over to http://home.comcast.net/~cjlevinsk22 to check them out.

I'm still fascinated by this forgotten treasure. It’s amazing how a majority of the ride seems to have been completed, yet it was left unfinished. Safety reasons, budget issues, whatever. I’m just so intrigued by the whole of Sylvester McBean and his lost Driving Machines. Some of my favorite pictures include the ones of the control room, control computer, and map of the track layout. Simply fascinating!

Well, head on over and check them out and let me know what you think. You might have already seen them on IOACentral, but if you haven’t, enjoy!

very nice. the coolest ride in orlando that never opened. I haven't even seen the cars on the tracks lately. thanks for the pics.

i only see them go on the tracks every once in a while.....why do they still run the cars????????it doesn't seem to make sense

It makes perfect sense to run the cars. Otherwise, there's no reason for the tracks to even be there.

i know but y do they only run the cars once every 3 hours or so
its kind of a waste
shouldn't they just rip it out and put like a grinch ride in it

to rip out the ride would change a lot of the infrastructure of suess landing. the best thing they could do is cycle the cars. it lends to the atmosphere. 9 out of 10 people that walk through never realize what was meant to be. they just see the cars on the track, assuming they're decorative.

That's so true...and so sad for those of us that do.

Neat pictures. Thanks for sharing! I agree it adds alot to the atmosphere of Seuss Landing to see the cars running along the tracks. When I have been there, I always hear people wondering what the track is for.

Wow. Really cool pics!! Thanks for posting them. How did you end up getting such good shots? I like close up picture of the vehicle. It looks neat.

They actually weren't taken by me. However, the original photographer was given a special "behind-the-scenes" tour of the attraction. Definately cool, seeing as those pictures are probably the closest we'll ever get to Sylvester's Unusual Driving Machines. :worried:
