I know this isn't too old, but I recently found our scrapbook from a WDW trip when I was 11 in 1986 or 87. My mom saved EVERYTHING from our trip... receipts, tickets, park maps (just EPCOT and MK) and I found a poster of Illuminations and Captian EO. I'd like to hang on to them for a while. WHats the best way to store them? Right now they are folded up inside a photo album. Can anyone help?

I would probably get a couple of tubes from PO or local store and roll them. Leaving them folded will only crease them more. And the color may rub off the crease area if they are open to air.

You could also open them flat and sandwich vetween 2 cardbaord pieces.

I love old maps and posters, they are such a great way to document trips and the history of the parks.

If you can you may want to mat them or frame them. Like Lisa said. It is best not to keep them folded as it will ruin them.

If it were me, I would take the posters to a professional framer and have them heat mounted to foam board using archival materials. That simply means the binding agents do not contain acids that would harm the paper or inks of the poster.

I second the heat mounting suggestion. Even if you do not plan on framing the posters right away, this will help to protect them. If you store something pressed against cardboard, the pulp can be an issue over time.
