I have several old park hopper tickets that have never been used--bought them for a trip that we didn't take last year. Do these tickets require a finger scan at the gate? I thought I read early that they did not do finger scans for these tickets, just wanted to know if they still don't require it?

It's been reported here that all tickets, old & new, now require the biometric scan.

Jarestel-is this something you are supposed to add on at the Disney store or something? We also have a park hopper from last year and I assumed we could still use it?? :confused3

For our March, 2005 trip, we used tickets purchased in 2004, and did not have our fingers scanned. We did not have to trade them in for new ones, either. In our case, I have to disagree with jarestel.

:cool1: when we were going home in 2003 we had 3 days left on our park tickets" we sold then in mcdonalds carnt remember how much now" but if you carnt use your tickets thers lots of places who will bye them of u.

I believe this started since March. All tickets now require the biometric scan. The old tickets can still be used, it's just that the first time you use them now, the biometric feature is added.

We have some old tickets also and plan to keep them for friends or family that may tag along on a future trip.

You can still use your old tickets. They will just be "scanned" at the entrance to the park for whoever is using them and will become linked to that person from now on. So don't worry about not being able to use your old tickets. Have a great trip!

Our old tickets only have 1 or 2 days each, so I am not worried about the bioscan.

That will no longer work as all tickets now use the biometrics.

We just got back yesterday. DS & I (Mom) have PAP's, but DH had a plastic Hopper pass from 2 yrs ago that still had some park days and a water park day left on it.

When we checked in to our hotel I checked with Guest Services to see if it needed to be converted or anything before he used it. She said "no." DH used it without any trouble: ran it through the ticket machines as well as the FASTPASS machines. The "biometric" scan was never an issue.
