Old non-expiring tickets now expire?

A few years back, I purchased 10 day non-expiring hoppers with WPF&M. The purpose was to use them over the years for short 1-2 day visits.

Recently, I logged into my MDE app (do not see this on the website) and it says that my tickets are "valid until Dec 31, 2030". That's only 13 years away. Also, my tickets show there are 8 days remaining (by my own records, I should only have 6 days remaining). I wonder if the extra days were added to mollify folks like me about the expiry date? It does make me feel better so I have no urge to call/make a fuss.

Anyone else with non-expiring tickets seeing similar things in their app?

Listing as "expiring at the end of 2030" is the "new normal."

As to whether the assets will actually become invalid at that time
remains to be seen.

Yes, in the app, it shows I have valid tickets for far more days than I know I do. I called ticketing a few days ago regarding an issue with a different ticket and the CM told me I was seeing the WPF&M entitlements that I still have and not park day entries, so I wouldn't put a lot of stock into thinking you may have 8 park days remaining when you may only have 6. The best way to figure this out is to go into the FP+ system and see how many days you can make FP+ for - that will tell you how many park days you have left on your ticket. I just did this with DH's ticket (on the app it says he has "10 days remaining). Found out, he only has 3 park days remaining and 10 WPF&M entitlements. To figure this out, I just started booking FP+ on consecutive days until it wouldn't let me do it anymore (I made 1 FP+, per day, for the Pixar shorts in EP to not pull hard-to-get FP+ out of the system and then went in and cancelled them)

I can confirm the days remaining in the app shows the amount of water park admissions remaining... we have several non expiring tickets with varying amounts of use, and they all reflect that

This is not always correct either. Last year a member of our party had a NE ticket and we were pretty sure he only had 1 day left but MDE showed 7 days and it let me book FPs for 7 days. I spoke to Disney and Disney IT and both told me they were showing 7 days available. Fast forward 2 months later and the evening after our 1st day in the parks he gets an email stating he has zero ticket entitlements and if he doesn't purchase a ticket by the following morning his FPs will be cancelled. We were kind of expecting this so he purchased a ticket online and we were good for our trip.

That actually happened to me as well. A few years ago I upgraded a 7 day NE ticket to a 9 day after using it a few times. I requested info on the ticket for our trip the following year and they said all 9 days were remaining, which I knew didn't make sense.

Although if Disney makes it such a pain to figure out how many days you have remaining, they really should stick by what they tell you.

Makes sense. I should have 8 waterpark days left. I just checked and can only make FP+s for 6 days.

For now, my tickets specifically say they have the "no expiration option" so I'm not going to worry about the 2030 date. if we don't end up using them up by 2030, then it will be time to discuss it with guest services. I think we will use them up over the next 13 years, but who knows, right? I didn't really expect to still have so many days on the tickets at this point - I bought the tix back in March 2013, over 4 years ago now.

I look up my older tickets and I don't see an expiration date or how many days are left. Where did you find that info?

It's only in the app. Look under Park Info & Entry then click "My Tickets".

Very strange. On the app, it shows a 2 day hopper having only 1 day left. We haven't used this ticket yet. On the website it will let us re-assign the ticket, which means that it hasn't been used.

We have them also and I was going to ask the same question. Regardless of weather it says 2030 we bought them as tickets that never expire and I will accept nothing less.

The Water park and more passes do show the water park days remaining not park days...
Mine also show an expire date of 2030... Mine will be used by then as it stands now.. Being MDE is a computer it has to show an expire date.. just as you can use the old tickets that were stamped you will be able to use these..

Good news is there are at least 13 years to figure this out. No need for people to get upset without even contacting Disney about it.

People go to WDW for just a day or two? How do y'all do that?

With our super-amazing nonexpiring passes! I would absolutely not consider it without them :)

First time we used it was the day before our Disney cruise. Last time was when I tacked on a one day park visit to the end of a Universal trip.

Otherwise, I like 10-12 day trips best (or longer - my last trip was over 2 weeks!)

I noticed that last time I logged in too. We currently have 4 days left on one set of NE passes, and one 10-day NE pass that is unused. (For everyone in our family, so x4 of each). I think there is a good chance that we won't quite finish using the days before 2030. I don't think they could legally declare them completely worthless at that point, but I wondered if they would make you exchange them for current tickets, and pay the difference in cost. I know a lot of theme parks (maybe even DL??) treat expired tickets that way. I'll be pretty annoyed if that happens, but as we've pointed out, still plenty of time to sort out the details.

According to MDE I still have a 4-day park hopper from a trip that I was supposed to take last December (but never made it due to airport issues). Surprised it's still there since my friend's mom paid for the trip tickets and all (through her AAA). I still have the old magic bands (the 1.0 ver) we never got to use as well. I even still have the option to link them to a ressie.

I wonder what this all means...:scratchin

I think it means you owe your friends mom for the ticket.

It’s a four day ticket that doesn’t expire until 14 days after first use. And, since it’s linked to your MDE account, you have control over it. Were you supposed to transfer it back to your friend?

Well I was surprised to find the tickets still on there tbh, because I coulda sworn that AAA refunded my friend's mom for the entire trip. I was the only one with a MDE account so the ressie she made with AAA was linked to my account. I'm sure she would have informed me months ago if something was still unaccounted for. I'll have to look further into it.
