I have decade old non expiring passes that have 1 theme park day and 1 waterpark (fun) pass days left. I verified this on our last trip. Now we are planning a trip in May and I called and was told I now have 4 fun (waterpark) days and 1 theme park day left. It just didn't seem right to me but I noticed that when you purchase a theme park pass there are more waterpark days (plus) days than before. Do you think this is correct? Just don't want to go and be told "no go" TIA!

Whatever they tell you in person when scanning the tickets will likely be correct. Not sure which different ways you may have verified the info and whether that was in person or the app or over the phone etc. The app glitches on old tickets a lot and I don't always trust what I get over the phone either unless I'm at what is the highest level of ticket services - old tickets are just too wonky in their system.

Disney changed how they did those "plus" days several times over the years and sometimes old tickets retroactively got the benefit of some of the changes so you could have more than you thought but that shouldn't have changed in the last year - that would have happened years ago.

thanks! Our last visit in 2021 I had them physically look at the tickets but back then the system was so behind, (wonky as you say) that I had to have them prioritize new tickets vs old and it required so much time. (they gave me actual physical tickets to carry and use because they were not a match to what we had left(park hopper vs not) The remaining theme park days are showing on the app but it does not show how many "plus" days there are, only theme days. So I called and they told me 4. We just really need to be sure because we have others going with us that are purchasing tickets to coincide with what we have left.

This doesn't make sense because the hard plastic ticket simply "reads" what is in MDE. Unless they somehow entirely disconnected the tickets from your account - invoice case you wouldn't see them now.

Are you considering that the other party will buy 4 Waterpark tickets? There isn't a multi-day Waterpark pass so they are paying full price. I'd have them buy 1 day, then check once you arrive and adjust plans or they buy more tickets accordingly.

I think what they did was give hard tickets (they actually were thin and flexible) to scan in the parks and leave the other tickets alone. We purchased non park hoppers to add to our existing park hoppers and if we were not hopping we would use the physical cards they gave us. They had trouble prioritizing on the MDE when to use what tickets on a given day. Supposedly that is fixed not.

For the new person coming with us, I think we are going to buy her a 5 day ticket with the park hopping and waterpark and sports option.

Yes, I agree with this, base it on the number of theme park days. Apologies I misinterpreted that you only planned 1 theme park day using old tickets plus however many Waterpark days were left.

No worries! Thank you! I am curious about all of those extra days though. I think back when I got the 10 day non expiring park hoppers, it only had 3..We used 2 so there should be 1 left, not 4

And that's where some of the changes happened. At some point tickets went from (and I'm making up numbers a bit) 10 day hoppers with 4 plus visits to the number of plus visits matching the number of park days. When that happened, they retroactively added plus days to I think all (but who knows with the system) the existing hoppers that had the fewer days. So many people who bought those 10/4 tickets (or whatever they were) had them converted on the system to 10/10 without any real notice that it happened. We still have several tickets with 3-8 days of unexpiring water park admissions on them from years ago. We never came close to using them when we had them so we should be set for the next decade or so!

completely makes sense that that is what happened! I am not sure why Disney is giving so many "plus" days now with the theme park days, it most cases they will go unused. We have 1 Theme park days left but I think they will continuously go unused since we need 5 days tickets and with the buy 4 get one free, the price is the same.

Since the tickets now expire - the number of plus visits they give is really pretty irrelevant. For the vast majority of people all it really does is just gives you access to the waterparks - I suspect nearly no one "runs out of" visits during their trip because most people aren't spending that much time outside of the main parks.

What I was surprised at was how they gave so many visits when they still had the non-expiring tickets. Because with those - we basically bought the water park add on twice way back when and had so many non-expiring plusses that we're still using those tickets 15 years later! We never needed to do an add on after that.

Yes, I agree! I remember after a visit, in order to find out what days were on what tickets, I had to fax my drivers license along with front and back of tickets and only given the info over the phone. I am sure they will be glad when these non expiring are gone, but it will take another decade with all of the new pluses
