Old Nickelodeon Shows

Oh, I watched just about everything on Nick as a kid!

I watched SNICK religiously- remember the original line-up? Clarissa, Roundhouse, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Ren and Stimpy (although I did not like Ren and Stimpy much). I loved Clarissa and Roundhouse! I can still sing the themes.

I caught Are You Afraid of the Dark on tv the other day and was so excited to see it again!

I watched Nick Jr: The Elephant Show, Maya the Bee, The Little Bits, David the Gnome, Fred Penner's Place, Eureeka's Castle, The Little Koala, Grimn's Fairy Tales, Noozles

I watched Doug and Rugrats- the other original Nicktoons besides Ren and Stimpy which I actually did watch at first despite being grossed out by it. I remember when they first premiered.

I watched game shows like Double Dare, Think Fast, Nick Arcade...I was *on* Wild and Crazy Kids- well, sort of. They did a boys camp vs girls camp episode, and my camp was the girls camp. I chose not to participate in the games, but on the episode, you can see me in the audience of the relay race game.

I used to not like You Can't do That on Television, but in the later years that they aired it, I changed my mind. Kids today don't even know where the whole slime bit came from!

I watched Hey Dude all the time. I watched Alex Mack, Salute Your Shorts, Welcome Freshman, All That...bunches of stuff!

Snick was the best!!

I totally forgot about Doug! I used to watch that show constantly. "Ah, ee, ooh, killer tofu!"

Was the Little Koala the cartoon with the girl who had adventures with her Koala friends? I think they were stuffed animals that came to life? There were 2 of them...

One of freakiest episodes of AYAOTD was the phone police...I don't know what did it but it creeped me out! Still does.

Oh Gullah Gullah Island!!!! I havent heard that title in YEARS!!! My DD is 13 now, and I can still remember her at 2 years old, dancing to the theme song! Oh my, its seems like yesterday!!!

What network is the former host of Double Dare on now and what sitcom did the host of Guts go on to co-star in?

Food Network and Mike O'Malley was on Yes, Dear. ( My kids got the biggest kick out of that )

I absolutely loved Nickelodeon. I remember:
Kenan and Kel
Clarissa explains it all
Are you afraid of the dark?
All That
Rugrats
The angry beavers
The wild Thornberry's
Guts
Gullah Gullah Island
Ren and Stimpy
Muppet Baby's

All That was great too. I remember they had all the rap/r&b artists on that show and then one day, it was the backstreet boys. ? I loved the character Amanda Bynes played, I forget her name. She used to read letters in this sickly sweet voice and then freak out and scream when she answered.

Also watched Kenan & Kel. "Who loves orange soda? Kel loves orange soda!"

That was "Today's Special"

OMG - thank you so much!!!!!! I've been trying to remember that forever. I googled and everything...I was beginning to think I imagined that the show existed!

Oh I loved SNICK! I wanted an orange couch just like the one they always showed on SNICK when I got my own place! :lmao: That didn't happen, though...

Clarissa Explains It All and Roundhouse were my favorites. I tried my best to re-create the wardrobes for both of those shows! I also had a huge crush on Ivan Dudynsky from Roundhouse! And I wanted to be Mickey Duran! :rotfl: I actually knew the dance to the ending song of Roundhouse at one time!

Mickey was in the movie "Clueless" I was watching the movie with my DD 13 a few weeks ago. And I recongized her. She was my favorite too!

Ah yes, Nickelodeon in its prime!

One I haven't seen mentioned yet (and which I'm now beginning to doubt was on this channel as a result):

Danger Mouse!!

It was the only cartoon my parents would watch with me.

Ahh, I loved Nick back then.

I really loved all of them:

Ren and Stimpy
Hey Arnold
Rugrats (I didn’t like the new ones with baby Dil)
Doug
Rocko’s Modern Life
Wild Thornberry’s
Angry Beavers
Ahh Real Monsters
Pete and Pete
Dude Ranch
Salute your Shorts
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Alex Mack
Clarissa
Roundhouse (it was like the original All That!)
All That (I went to a taping when the Spice Girls performed)
Double Dare
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Guts
Nick Arcade!
Allegra’s Window (I really loved this show)
Eureka’s Castle
Gullah Gullah

Man! I’m going to go search for these on DVDs now!!!

Wow, this thread TOTALLY brought me back to my young childhood.

Pin Wheel
Dangermouse
The Elephant show - my little brother loved them!

As for Don't Just Sit there I was on that show when Salt N Pepa performed!
Roundhouse
Fifteen
Hey Dude

Not sure if you guys know this but alot of the guys from Roundhouse were in the Disney movie Newsies.......with the fabulous Christian Bale.

Muffy the Mouse and Sam the Security Guard haha I LOVED LOVED that show. I remember watching them with my grandparents....makes me smile now:flower3:

I forgot about Hey Dude! Everytime I see Christine Taylor with Ben Stiller I think about her on that show.

I must watch Newsies again. Christian Bale is my fave!

My DD had lots of favorites that have already been mentioned.

Our two favorite shows were Weinerville and KABLAM! Marc Weiner was really talented and that show was really bizarre at times. I always thought that Kablam was SNL for kids. My favorite segment of Kablam was Action League Now.

I wish they would put those out on DVD - I'd love to see them again!

EDIT:

I almost forgot our other fave - Invader Zim.

Well, there's a connection I never made until this very moment. I am now strangely conflicted, thinking about the sweet and bubbly Melody of my youth doing strange things with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and a midget in Zoolander.

Rugrats, Wild Thornberry's, Rocket Power, Hey Arnold.
Yeah, I'm a late '90s kid.

Wow- I kid you not, I was trying to make this connection on Monday....We were watching The Heartbreak Kid, and I got to thinking of Stillers wife and how did I know her from before The Brady Bunch....it was from Hey Dude!:goodvibes

I think my favorite Afraid episode would be the pinball one! When they get stuck in the mall

I remember one time we went to Universal and saw Melissa Joan Hart filming Clarissa...you could look down and see the living room...I think she was doing a scene with her Dad

Not a Nick show....but since we seem to be around the same age, does anybody remember an afternoon special about kids trapped on a bus in a flooded river? I can not for the life of me remember the details of this show and its been driving me crazy!!!

When my DD was in 2nd grade, a boy in her school won the Nick Takes Over Your School contest. She is now a freshmen in college and believe it or not, she dug out her shirt (signed by some cast members) and still wears it! :lmao:

I love this thread!! These old shows were some of the best childhood memories I have.

Wow. YAY old Nicktoons! :woohoo:
