Old Navy overcharged on the Rockband 2 game

It's like an instant 1,000$ per store in the orlando area... That's a lot of money, when 20$ means a lot to some one these days. The ones that stood in line to get that deal were there to save money... not get ripped off.

But don't you at least agree it's up to the individual consumer to watch their purchases as they were being rung up? I know I was watching all mine to make sure they were correct. It's called personal responsibility.

But if the price was changed "right in front of you" WHY did you pay the elevated amount??? By paying that amount you were agreeing with their method.

I think she bought the game to be sure she had a copy before it sold out. Then probably needed to confirm that there was a problem before bringing it back to their attention. I've done that at the grocery store.

True- I would have spoken up loudly right then and either had the amount reduced or not purchased the item. :confused3 Wouldn't everyone??

because this close to the holiday season, it was going to be that much harder to find the game and guitar. And I figured I'd bite the bullet if I needed to. I already bought the drums weeks ago when I found out about the promo. And I still had the option to return it afterwards.

I told them when I walked out I was going to call corporate about it. I did on Friday when the offices were open, I got my answer, and my money back. And I think every one else should get thier money back too.

Old Navy doesn't sell video games. It was thier doorbuster deal to get people in the door. Do you not follow the black friday ads?? Stores do all sorts of wierd things for black friday. They've also teamed up with Rock Band for merchandise, like t-shirts. And had a store set up so you could play rock band in the store.

She said in the OP that she was pissed when they changed it right in front of her so she had to have known. I would have called a manager over at that point to get an explanation.

I imagine that people who actually have a job and work for their hard earned money would have spoken up for sure...those who do not believe in working and live off "friends" don't appreciate the money as much.

I know if I had wanted that game or whatever it is and something was jacked up like that right in front of me I would have said something and showed the ad and either waited for them to correct it or let them keep it. It seems like it is for sale at all kinds of places.

I do not follow Black Friday ads because I think the whole day is ridiculous and do my holiday shopping online to avoid the madness.

Was it because you bought it on Thursday and not Friday?

I've worked retail, and there have ALWAYS been pricing errors. If a TV rings up for 20 bucks, of course we are going to change it to the right price. If people care, they will notice if they were really overcharged. What was the price listed in teh ad?

FYI, the game is for the person that works hard. It's what she wants for Christmas, and she's getting exactly what she asked for.

There was no price listed in the ad, that's why I called corporate to find out what was going on. I also found it strange that the girl said "we were told this morning to price change the game". I tried to put up a fight right then and there, but there's only so much you can do on a day like that. And I wanted to know from the horses mouth what the price was supposed to be. As to why I called customer service later on. I would've done it right in the store, but they're closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Good luck, Sandra. People feel they have to be argumentative for the sake of it, and they are going to nitpick over misspellings and grammar usage to boot.
I have a pet peeve about that, but I'm not going to pick on you.

Hope you feel better knowing that there are people here who have understood perfectly that you were trying to get a Black Friday special and wanted to make sure nobody else got shafted.
