Old Magic Bands

I have MagicBands from 2018 and 2019 that still work for park tickets, resort room entry, Photopass and charging to the band. It doesn't capture ride photos. But if I set the WDW app on my cellphone to allow location tracking, I will get the ride photos.
Thanks. I also have MBs from 2018 and before that don't capture ride photos, so that's good info to know.
 

Normally on the origination MB, and the MB 2.0 the battery normally lasts about 2+ years. You can't replace the battery on either version. That's why Disney made the MB+ with a rechargeable battery.

Even with a dead battery or the drained battery on the MB+, a MB works for every touch point. The only function that is not available is access to long range RF communication for select attraction pictures or interactive guest interactions in the parks.


No a Disneyland MB will not work in the WDW MB system.

We’ve used multiple MB+ at both DL and WDW.

It MUST be MB+, however. Any other generation of MB’s will not work in DL’s system.
Additionally, at DL only, you can reassign the MB+ to a different person’s profile/ticket. It is done thru the MB+ settings within the DL app. DH and I have done it, and so have my son & his daughter.

The caveat is that once a MB+ is linked to a ticket, and you’ve tapped into the park, you can no longer switch who it’s assigned to. At least, that’s what we were told… we haven’t actually tried it for ourselves.
 
So while I was going through this thread and I took a look at my magic bands and cards online at a computer in MDE and it is not showing all of my MBs. It shows the more recent themed bands, but not the older just solid color MBs are not showing up. Same for my wife. We only have one MB+, so there are some non-MB+ showing up.

I know we used one of my wife's in May, so I know it was registered and working, but don't see them anymore online.

Anyone else notice any issues with MBs not appearing in MDE?

Pretty sure I used to see my deactivated cards online as well with the option to reactivate, but don't see them either.
 
Just a small clarification, you can't actually remove your old MBs from your MDE profile. You can only deactivate them or report them as lost, and then will Disney actually remove them from your MDE profile. If you deactivate your old MB, and then decide to reuse it you can just Activate your band again in your MDE profile.

This is a system limitation. I had over 50 cards and bands. I had to call their Helpdesk and they had to deactivate almost all of them and add the ones I wanted access to. I now have 9 bands and 6 cards showing. 15 is the max.

If you have some that are not showing, you will need to call the Disney Helpdesk.

I currently have 26 MB and 3 MB+ showing in my MDE. These go all the way back to 2014.

Thanks. But there are only 2 bands and an old card showing for me and one band and one old card for my wife. I went through and deactivated cards and cleaned them up several years ago, so that really shouldn't be the issue. I'll give it a couple of days and then try again before calling.

I don't care as much if they don't show up, as long as they work. I guess I could add them manually but I'd rather not have to even there there are only a couple apiece.
