We stayed there last December (similar dates) and really enjoyed the resort. The buses take a litle getting used to, but they are serviceable. The resort center is wonderful. Really enjoyed the Gurgling Suitcase bar and Olivia's Cafe. The boat ride to Disney Springs is excellent. We had a 2 bedroom villa for 7 people and loved the room. Easy to park your car near your room. I would recommend requesting a ground floor room as there are elevators in only two of the buildings. The buses do take a while to get around the resort, but we didn't have any issues with them. If we didn't love Port Orleans so much, we would stay there again.

How far is the resort from the parks? Are the rooms well insulated from each other to keep out loud neighbors at night?

If you are in a studio, you may hear noise from the one bedroom connected to it. If it bothers you, you can put a pillow or blanket between the connecting door(s) to help block the noise.

There are three buildings with elevators and they were constructed after the resort was completed and they removed the DVC Sales Office from the resort (formerly called the Commodore House). Many times they reserve those three buildings for medical needs.
