OLD KEY WEST

OKW is definitely my family's go-to resort. It's reliable. The biggest DVC rooms. The themeing if fun. It is older but I have never had an issue there. They have stayed there more than any other resort. Go for it!

We loved our stay at OKW last summer. We were in building 62, so very close to the Hospitality Center. The rooms were HUGE. The pool was nice. The QS could use some help but other than that, we really enjoyed it.

We love it there, and love South Pointe for the quiet, great pool and the transportation.

Just got back from a 2 week stay at OKW in 1 bedroom villa. All I can say is we absolutely loved it . Place was great for myself , wife , and 2 kids . The kids are insisting on a return to the same resort next year . Nothing but great things can be said about this place . Highly recommend !

Just started to get packing idea's for our next trip home. Can't wait to sit by the small pool at Millers.

Yep - just made our reservations for next January. We haven't been in a long time, and everyone is excited to be going back to OKW. We have stayed at many WDW resorts, and have enjoyed them all, but OKW is the only one that doesn't have even one drawback for us! Love the space, the grounds, the boat to DS, Olivia's, the "porch" overlooking the golf course, the washer/dryer, the peace & quiet! We love the parks, but it is so nice to get back to OKW and really unwind!

It's our home resort, and we've been going there ever since we joined DVC in 1992! We love it. I really feel like I am in Florida when I am there. The rooms are large, 1 & 2 bedrooms are largest on property and the patio/deck is a wonderful large space too. The kitchen is spacious and it has a larger dining table. So relaxing there. After more visits than i count we still love going back "home!"

My wife and I like OKW for all the above mentioned reasons. We always try to book there or SS even though neither is our home.
Someone also mentioned the buses.
Both my wife and I were bus drivers at Disney and it was our favorite run. The buses rarely are full. I have never been in there where all the seats were full, either coming or going.
Very easy to get to the Hospitality House and back to your room on the buses.
You do have a choice if going to Disney Springs by taking the boat, just like SS or PO.

And again , the rooms are very large and very comfortable. You do not feel like you are in a hotel. We quit working at Disney about a year ago but they were just starting to refurb the rooms. I am not sure how far they got before we left, we never saw anything in Cast Connections from the rooms but we really didn't look for it either.

There is a woodpecker at that pool. See if you can find it. You'll hear it for sure.

We are staying at OKW in 2 months. Hearing all the great reviews has me excited! Thanks!

My question- we have breakfast reservations at the Grand Floridian at 9:50am. We have to bus to MK and then ride the monorail to GF right? How much time should we allow?

We had good luck with buses and I don't think we ever waited more than 10 minutes for one. I would give yourself an hour or more to get to GF. You'll want to allow 30 minutes for the bus to MK, waiting and travel time. And then you'll have to get to GF, which would either be a boat ride or the resort monorail.
