Old Key West

Anyone like it there? How is it without a car?

Thank you. :)

We love OKW , the rooms are larger than most resorts, it's quiet & laid back. We always drive so I can't comment about what it's like w/o a car. Our DDs have stayed there several times w/o a car (Magic Express) & have always enjoyed themselves. Olivia's is hidden gem of a restaurant. Try for a room near the Hospitality House. :dance3:

Sounds great, thank you for the info!

We've stayed there 3 times and are hoping to stay there next March - at my boys request. We love it there and have never had a car. Although spread out, the grounds are lovely and it is only about a 10 minute walk to the Hospitaility House. If you can't get a room near there, I would recommend Turtle Pond. The pool there is large and it has a snack counter. You can also hop on any bus to get to the Hospitality House, as thebus always stops there last. Although OKW is not next to a park, it is very centrally located so the bus rides to the different parks is short. We love the laid back feel of the resort. It is a nice break from the parks.:)

Loved OKW! It seemed like the rooms had much more space, and it has such a laid back feel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. As PP said, the bus always stops last at hospitality house. We had a car, but due to the section we were in (if we didn't have a car), I would've saved time and hopped on a bus. Have a great trip!

Thought I'd hijack the thread. Wife and I are staying there in December, and we'll have a car. For the four parks, does it make more sense to drive or take the bus?
Thanks

For the MK I would take the bus so you don't have to deal with the ferry or monorail, but for the other parks I could go either way.

We consider it our new home away from home. We have stayed twice and will be back for a week in August and cannot wait.

We've done both car and bus; we've never had an issue with the buses...they run frequently and there's an internal bus as well.

As in the earlier response, bus to MK. But OKW is so close to Epcot (five minutes) and DHS (eight minutes) by bus, it's more relaxing to use the bus - especially if you're thinking about Drinking Around the World ;).

I stayed there one time and really loved the huge rooms! I had a car as well, and ended up taking the bus to MK and the car everywhere else. No complaints, but I was literally right across the street from the Hospitality House so it was easy to run over and grab a snack or souvenir!
