Calling all OKW fans, please tell me all about OKW! DH and I just booked a 2-bedroom villa for us, my parents and sister for our trip in December. We usually stay at either the MK resorts or Epcot resorts. I've been looking at lots of pictures from various web sites, the resort looks beautiful! We're so excited to stay there.

Anyway, if you could me about your trips there--good and bad, I'd really appreciate it. Also, if you could tell me about your experiences with transportation there as well.

TIA!

I'm curious, too. Any tips on good villa locations? And how exactly does the bus system work within the resort? Is there an internal bus that brings you to a central bus stop for the parks, DD, etc?

OKW is my home resort The buses works like all the rest of the resorts, except for the DTD bus is used as an internal bus once it arrives from DTD.I prefer to be in the back on Turtle Pond Road. You have pool close by , your out of the way , and just hop on any bus and it takes you to the front. We have stayed there every year since 94(except for last year did AKL) and have never had a bad experience. You will enjoy it.
Make sure you ride the boat to DTD.

We enjoyed this resort a few years back. One of the nicest things about it as compaired to the MK or Epcot resorts, is how quiet it is. It definately makes you feel like your more relaxed, taking a break from all the buzz.

If you are going to make a request based on transportation, then ask for a room near the Peninsula bus stop. Its the first stop on the resort loop and a very quick walk to the lobby, which is the last. So if you arrive at the busstop only to see your bus pulling away, you can beat it to the lobby, instead of waiting for the next one.

We just booked out 3rd stay at OKW in a 2 bedroom for this July. We love it and would never stay anywhere else. The living area in OKW is just so spacious and airy and I really like that you do not enter from a hallway. There are only a few rooms per area (at least where we stayed) so not a lot of outside people traffic.

We always stay in building 62 for a couple of reasons. It is very close to the front so if we need something from the store its an easy walk and we love the view of the lake. We can also watch the fireworks every night from our balcony.

I discovered that if the bus doesnt turn and go to the check in first, we can get off at the first stop right over the bridge and just walk a very short way to our room.

I can't say enough about how quiet and gorgeous it is.

I've stayed at OKW a lot, my parents are members. We generally try to stay in or near building 55 in the back of the resort. There's a pool right next to that building, and the room is generally pretty quiet. Haven't yet stayed in a 2 bedroom, just a 1 bedroom, with me on the sleeper sofa, but during the OKW part of the trip next week, we have a 2 bedroom and I can escape my Dad's horrible snoring. That will feel like a lot of space after 4 nights in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

::yes::

You will love OKW!

We have stayed in most locations throughout the property and have never had a bad room or experience. Large rooms and warm decor.

We have two teenage DD's and in July we stayed in a 2BR in building 13...Ground Floor. (Room 1314)

This is directly across from the HH. Main Pool, Shops, Bus Stop..etc. For us this was the perfect room.

Have fun!:wave2:
