Old key west to starting line?

Can you actually walk from okw to the epcot starting line? What is the walk like? Roadway? Path? Who has done this??

I'm thinking of staying at okw for marathon weekend.

Officiallly....no you can't walk it. Unofficially, you can BUT it is dark and the roads are major. You go out Vacation Club Way, jog left on Bonnet Creek Parkway and across at Overpass Rd. (Just Google Map OKW and you will see the roads).

It has been done successfully. You don't get to do race bag check and you risk a cast member turning you back.

i think i will just stick to the bus. i don't want to add extra mileage only to perhaps be turned back.

i still think we are going to aim for OKW for our stay. we haven't stayed there yet and the reviews all seem to say it is a really relaxing resort. marathon weekend will be the beginning of a 10 day trip and after that race i know i'll want the word "relax" to be the biggest word in my vocabulary.
