Old Key West to Port Orleans FQ?

Not sure if this is the right place, but here's my dillema:
We're staying at Old Key West for one night at the start of our vacation at the end of May since I could save money by using points instead of paying cash for a night with a late arrival. My teenage son was hoping we could stay at Port Orleans FQ (particularly for beignets for breakfast.) I've looked at the Google maps so often that I have them practically memorized ;) and OKW and POFQ look SO close together. Is there anyway to walk between the two or would I have to do bus transfers to get there safely for a quick breakfast? Thanks for your help!

I don't believe there is a walkway between OKW and POR. There may POSSIBLY be a walkway from the Treehouse villas at SSR to POR???? and you could walk to SSR from OKW (they are really close, but I'm not 100% sure there is a real sidewalk).

You CAN do water access to downtown from OKW, change boats and go to POR.

I hope this was a little bit helpful!!

I believe you can take the ferry boat from OKW to POFQ. I think they are all on the same route. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I hope not. We were planning on a nice trip to the POs during our stay at OKW in June.

Oops - posting at same time. Apparently you can go to DTD and change boats. Better than nothing I guess.

Sorry to say, this may be difficult.

The DTD boats don't start until 10 a.m., and even the buses don't officially serve DTD until 9 a.m.

There is no walkway that I am aware of to PO from any resort. There is a walkway from OKW to SS and DTD, but it is a long way, and won't do you any good if the buses aren't running yet.

I don't think there are breakfast buses to PO, as there is no character breakfast there, and it's not very close to any park.

You might take a bus to Epcot, and transfer to a bus to PO. If you stand in the PO load zone (#8) at Epcot, a driver should alert the coordinator who will send a bus to pick you up. Tell the driver on the bus to Epcot where you are trying to get to when you board; he may be able to drop you off, or at least alert the coordinator when you arrive at Epcot.

Alternatively, since the resorts are so close, a taxi should only be around $5 + tip (the meter rate is $2.20 for the flag drop, + $2.20 per mile.)

there is not an "official" walkway but the service area is connected to POFQ but an access path that i have walked without any difficulty. i can't remember about keep out signs which i normally observe but it isn't difficult --say a quarter to half mile.

Thanks everyone! Pop, I'm sure that I see the service area on Google maps and it literally looks like it's right across the street from one of the Old Key West driveways. I'll probably try that or grab a taxi if I can't go through. I'm pretty sure that I've read elsewhere that walking via the golf courses is not allowed in WDW. Is that correct? Again on Google maps, it looks like it would be a nice, albeit long, walk around the golf course to get between the two as well.
