Are there boats (or walking trails ) from Old Key West to Downtown Disney? TIA

Yes, both, but taking the trails is a little bit of a hike.

Thank you! I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to switch resorts for two nights...I currently have a 1 bedroom at SSR (trying to get a 2 bedroom anywhere) Right now there is a 2 bedroom at Old Key west for 2 of my 4 nights...

Also, if you move from one Disney resort to another, do they move your luggage for you?

Yes bell services at first resort will transport luggage over to your second resort. It is possible, however, even if you leave it with bell services in the morning that it may not arrive until late afternoon/early evening but the service is usually much more efficient than that.

Yes DVC will move your luggage. The walk to SSR is significantly shorter than to DTD.

Warning: with the size of an OKW 2br you may be “spoiled” for all time.

I was able to get the 2 bedroom at OKW...thanks for the help! I haven't stayed at SSR or OKW and can't wait to try them out! Looking forward to being spoiled!

I just noticed it says Dedicated 2-Bedroom on the vactions details page showing my reservation on the DVC wedsite...what does that mean?

Dedicated means that it is not a lock-off. A lock off is a 2BR that is made up of a studio and a 1 BR that connect by a door, but could be rented separately. The lock-offs have an outside door to the 1BR side and to the studio side and the studio side has a little kitchen area. The dedicated 2BR only has one door to the villa (other than the doors to the balcony) and the studio side doesn't have the small kitchen area.

The path to DTD didn't used to be lit at night--I don't know now.

There's a boat to/from OKW and Cap'n Jack's restaurant at DTD that stops at SSR. There used to be lights on the walking trail but [I think} the lights petered out at the tree houses but the walk to OKW from there is wide open and fairly easy assuming a moon. the walk takes you out to a pool and bus stop --but i'm damned if i can reemember the name of pool or stop.

I believe the walking trail is at the end of the parking lot for buildings 53,54,55,56. It is a really nice walk along the canal, very peaceful. I walked it or jogged it daily!
