To further update the pool const. photos I posted. There is not much to see, they have most covered by the construction fense. I will leave these on for a few days then probably remove them to add our family photos. They said the slide is almost complete and they will start to enclose it with the sand castle soon, the slide will then not be visible as it will be inside the sandcastle. I could not get any of the pool its self.
A few quick comments about OKW. It meet all our expectations on all fronts. Clean room, nice view for a studio(4616) and the place was very empty. We took almost 100 photos and I can't post them all here or on Webshots but will pick and choose the best. The weather was great. We spent 4 days checking the place out and just vegging. We did not go to the parks but spent the time going to the other DVC resorts and believe it or not were not able due to poor planning on our part to make it to Saratoga Springs but got a lot of photos from the walk to DTD from OKW and the boat ride back. We did a lot of Xmas shopping and ate at most of the resorts we visited. DVC and OKW are wonderful and we can't wait to go back this coming May..smjj

Thanks for the TR and pics smjj ! I just left OKW on 11/6 and they didn't have any part of the slide up yet----so alot has happened in the two weeks since I was there. I posted pics last week, but yours show some definite change. The resort was filled to capacity the week I was there.

The resort was so empty when we parked our car at bld. 46 the parking lot was almost empty. We thought the folks were at the parks. When we returned that night, it was almost as empty. The 1 bedroom next to us was emtpy all put the first day we were there and several times when we caught the bus at HH we had it to ourselfs and joked with the drivers about the nice stretch limos Disney had. All the buses at the resort, we caught the one at South Point were never more than 1/2 full. The one interesting point was lunch at Olivia's, it was always crowded and it was due to a lot of ties and skirts. Our server, Jerry said they were from Team Disney and came in all the time due to its closeness to Team Disney's office building. They were not wearing their Disney badges. Jerry said they were not allowed to because they did not want us tourist asking then about restroom locations, park stuff and other things they would not know about. I thought that was strange because DTD appears closer..smjj

wow....what a difference a couple weeks make ! I think we had Jersey Week to account for the lack of rooms during the first week of November. Glad you had a nice, relaxing stay.....even with OKW at maximum capacity it still seemed quiet when we were sitting on our patio. The busses were standing room only returning back from the parks at night. We usually had no less than 6-12 people (not including our family of 5) at the HH bus stop during the day.

Thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see how much it changes by next Tuesday when we arrive. I think you might have hit at a good time, since it was filled to capacity when we were there Oct. 15-22. I know they are completely booked for the first two weeks of December too.

Those pictures are wonderful and I am totally homesick!!!! thanks for posting... I can't wait to see the pool The weather looks lovely and how cool is that about the people eating there!!!



(btw - for anyone who gets a pop up after leaving the pic site about your clock being out of synch - be sure to close it and do nothing. A very smart friend of mine was fooled by one of those pop ups and it took him a couple of days to fix his pc... we have a pop up blocker, but some are just too darn clever by half- this one for example managed to show up!)

OKW was the only resort we had ever seen before buying in site unseen to SSR. My ONLY comment that was at all negative was that there was not really a good pool area for my small children. I was there alone with them and felt totally stressed in the pool (next time dad HAS to be there for us to go in the pools!!!). I am looking forward to seeing what they are doing first hand in April!

I kepted the 3 construction photos on for a few days then deleted 2 of them. I them posted our trip pic. for family members to view. There is still a good one of the slide in the album. I think it is about 6 or 7th picture into the album...smjj
