For those who have stayed at both, please help us decide between a 2BR villa at Old Key West and a 2 BR at Wyndham Bonnet Creek for June. Right now we have reservations at both. There is a $2500 difference in price.

We are a party of 6 - me and my husband, 23 year old twin daughters, 18 year old daughter with autism, and 13 year old daughter who uses a wheelchair. We do not need an accessible room, but would need to avoid a room with steps. We have a van, and can park free at both resorts. We know about the 60 vs 30 day FastPass (our daughter with autism also has a DAS) and EMH, transportation, free magic bands, etc.

How is bus transportation from OKW? Any issues with too many wheelchairs at certain stops?

What would make it worth the difference in price?

We have stayed at Beach Club, Poly and Port Orleans Riverside, but that was when there was just 5 of us. This is the first time we are considering offsite.

Thank you!
Kim

We have stayed at both and love both. For a $2500 difference in price and the fact that you have your own vehicle I would probably choose Bonnet Creek. Think of all the extras you could add to make the trip special with that savings - EMM or DAH or dessert parties perhaps?

Other than transportation, do you feel as much in the bubble at Bonnet Creek?

Is BC in the Disney Bubble? That total Disney Immersion “feel”.
Would that make or break a trip for ur family?

Bonnet Creek. It's basically across the street from OKW. Bonnet Creek is also guaranteed to have elevators in all the buildings. OKW only has some buildings with elevators. $2500 is a lot of money!

We still feel very much in the bubble because of Bonnet Creek's location. It is right beside CBR and very close to Disney Springs. The only consideration that would give me pause is 30 day vs 60 day FP. However, with that amount of savings you could do multiple special events that would allow access to some of the harder to get FP rides like Pandora and TSL.

I have stayed at OKW and honestly, I did not feel "Disney Bubble" at all, so I would choose whichever resort works best for your family and your budget. OKW is gorgeous, relaxing, spacious. It does not make you feel as though you are plunked in the center of all things Disney, and I firmly believe that is a deliberate effort. It is an escape from the Disney frenzy.
