I can hardly wait--just 3 weeks to WDW and our first stay at OKW !! I have fallen in love with each resort we've experienced, but I have to say that for some reason I'm looking forward to OKW more than any previous resort. Perhaps, because it will be our fourth trip to WDW, I know that we will be spending more time relaxing there.

After each trip, DH has always wistfully commented, "We stay at these great resorts and then we never get to really enjoy them!" Well, this year I'm planning on more "down time" for our family. OKW just seems so laid-back and relaxing....I'm literally counting the hours 'til we arrive!! :hourglass

I have a general idea of what to expect; but if you experienced OKW fans can offer any special tid-bits, I would really like to hear them! Thanks!

We heavily considered buy a resale at Old Key West because we liked the sound of it so much. I hear Olivia's is pretty good as well. I love spending down time at the resorts, it makes for a much more relaxing trip. Have a great time!

We have been members at OKW since 1994 and love the resort! We love the themeing, the huge villas, the great CMs, the boat to DTD...I could go on and on. we have stayed at BCV(3 times) and BWV(liked BCV fine..will not return to BWV) and still prefer OKW even with the proximity to Epcot of the other 2. I love the porches/patios and watching the golfers with my morning coffee. We love having parking right infront of the villa(we drive from Boston). It is easy to walk to mainpool area from anywhere(although some think its a little hike). We love Miller's road(close enough to main area, but very quiet) area but have stayed all over. You will enjoy the resort. Take time and rent a boat from the resort..we did last trip and went all the way to DTD on a pontoon boat..very fun!! We also enjoy the quiet pool areas as much as main pool(we don't have young ones to use the slide or kids area). We usually eat at Olivias once or twice-good food. fun little lounge area at the main pool area is funky and nice tropical drinks(Gurgling Suitcase). We'll be there 12/24-12/29/06 and look forward to decorating the 2bdroom wtih xmas tree and lights!

One thing that really gives us a little homey feeling is an evening trip into Gurgling Suitcase (for me, it's always for a Sultry Seahorse) and then sitting out on the patio, listening to the music.

Connears' post says it all. We 'own' at BCV but have been to OKW just as often. In our opinion there's no other DVC resort that feels as much as home. This is the resort to visit when you want to relax. The overall atmosphere of the resort is so laid back and detached from the excitement of WDW that its truely like going home after a day at the parks. Enjoy!

Have a great stay at OKW Kathy ! I was there in August and wish I was back there now
Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from your balcony....a nice boat ride down the river.......the nice leisurely strolls through the neighborhood.....and the relaxing atmosphere all around.

I rented points at OKW for my first DVC stay. That convinced me I needed to buy. It's so relaxing. We like staying near the quiet pools and cooking out and swimming at least one afternoon of each trip. I love parking right next to our rooms, too! And the cm's there are the best. Oh, yeah, and I can't forget Olivia's for breakfast. I want to go back now!!! Even though we were just there last month.

I love OKW.

After a couple of stays elsewhere, there is no relaxation compared to OKW.

TO borrow a phrase from Maui.....OKW Na Ka Oi! (OKW is the best)! :thumbsup2
