I was just reviewing our reservations and noticed that under "Accomodations" it says "Deluxe Studio -- Hospitality House." Pray tell, does anyone know what is a "Deluxe Studio" at OKW? :confused3

In the past week or two the "name" of DVC studios has been changed to include Deluxe. Sounds spiffy, eh?! ;)

I'm curious about the "Hospitality House" part. Did you make a request like that? Is it actually a booking category (like dedicated 2-bedroom or Jambo House)?

Yes Hospitality House is a booking category that is guaranteed and noted at the time of booking

I just checked my reservation for December, and sure enough, it now says Hospitality House Deluxe!

I wonder if there is any "truth in advertising" accompanying this change? :confused3 You can imagine my initial reaction when I saw the word "Deluxe." :cool1:

When we made our reservations at the 11 month window the CM asked if we wanted the Hospitality House and, of course, we said "Yes!"

we just got back from a great stay at okw. They were working hard to get all of the hospatality house villas renovated. We were unable to get the hospitality house but our room was perfect we were very close to hospitality house, ground floor, got in early and had a nice view.

we love okw

Awesome!! Thanks for the great update! :thumbsup2

I just visited the dvcmember website to check our "Vacation Details" and noticed that the word "Deluxe" was added to our reservations for the past two years. This gives a whole new meaning to "retro." :dance3:

It's been longer than a week or 2. I have a ressie that we booked in June that has it.

It's not dependent on when the reservation was made - in the system it updated all the descriptions. I have a VGC reservation that I made back in July that just changed to Deluxe Studio. The system even updated completed reservations.

My MK View studio at BLT from a vacation in Feb now say "Dlx Studio - Theme Park" and my BWV Preferred Garden/Pool view studio now says "Deluxe Studio - Garden". These all just changed.

Except for a studio. It's still just a studio, a glorified hotel room. ;)

But, they are different than regular hotel rooms - regular rooms don't have independent balconies (deluxes do, but not moderates), nor do they have kitchenettes. But, this might be the whole point. DVC rooms are used by cash guests as well, so I'm thinking this will make it easier to distinguish between DVC studios and regular hotel rooms. This way the usage of the word "deluxe" might help those in distinguishing that there is a small difference between DVC studio rooms and regular cash rooms.

Tiger :)

And the Cash reservations CM just use slight different terminology for a lot of things. I remember when I first booked a cash stay at the Contemporary several years ago. The CM's script didn't mention "bus" they were "complementary air conditioned motor coaches" that whisked you comfortably between locations. Blending to systems will be interesting, if they try to make the descriptions and scripts more alike.
