Old Disney Park photos

Our first trip was July 1992 then Dec. 92 and again in Dec. 93 but I am pretty sure it was the 1992 year we went. It is funny you said that because no one seems to know this. Did you ever do the character breakfast at Empress LIlly? It was a plated breakfast. We did that twice too.

Never did the character breakfast at the Empress Lilly but my DBro did have his wedding reception there! It was probably almost 30yrs ago though.

okay - gotta say I love this thread. i think the clothing we all wore in the past is one of the main highlights!! I saw a fellow 20 something post a picture from the mid ninetys wearing sandals with socks - I sooo did that!! Too funny.

Socks with sandals are no longer an issue. No one even notices anymore. Now its socks with crocs. Some say no, others say yes...I say it doesn't matter. Whatever makes one comfortable. The only beauty of aging is the ability to not give a shake about what others think.

Personally I would prefer to not wear socks with them but my feet sweat too much and make my foot hurt. So, on with the socks and anyone that thinks that makes me "weird", well I'm OK with that.

I'm vehemently against socks with sandals, but much more laid back about socks with crocs. Crocs are already known as ugly shoes, I don't think socks are going to make them much worse. (Ignore the fact that I have "cute" crocs and not the standard "ugly" ones.)

This thread has been fantastic. I never got to go to Disney as a kid, so I had no idea what it used to be like. I wish I'd gotten to see the Roger Rabbit stuff though. Oh and Ninja Turtles of course. Even if I wasn't a fan of April.

Well Hallelujah ! I have been asking around forever if anyone had any pictures of the Original Chef Mickeys and was met with what Original....Finally a witness ...If you go through your pictures & find any more of the restaurant in OR outside please let me know

Thank you ! I don't even know when you originally posted the pictures, apparently I responded when I found this ! As you can tell from my user id Its my favorite place and I collect all things Chef Mickey (now kitchen items re-named Gourmet Mickey) and am trying to do something unique like a collage not really sure yet. So if you can help (or anyone else here) I would be ever happy & grateful

The following are my wife's family photos circa 1971-73.

Only MK was built at the time and yet the crowds seem low.

Photo of my wife alone with Mickey. There were no lines for characters back then, so most photos show them getting mobbed by little kids.

I miss the skyway. And look at that nice clean tree line with no other buildings popping up.

Always a long line for the raceway.

There's my wife interrupting. Some things are learned at a very young age.

This beautiful resting spot is now another Disney store - of course. And yeah, I have pretty hip in-laws.

Accordion Player at the Restaraunt in Italy with me, my cousins, and my grandparents.

WOW!! Someone else who remembers Kitchen Kabaret!!! "Veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit..." I'm still singing the song YEARS later. I even have two plush toys of the veggies from the show. An Eggplant and Broccoli. Good memories of childhood.

wow I feel nostalgic and I never been to disney before 2005. I wonder how it will look when my kids are my age!! I need to start taking pictures of the actual theme park now for comparison in the future.

Yeah, one day I'll take photos from the exact same spots that the old ones were from so that I have "now and then" photos.

It is so much fun stepping back in time thru these old photos, I especially like the ones before 1989 which was the first year I went to WDW when there was only MK and Epcot, MGM opened a month after we went the first time.

This is not really that old of a photo, 1985, but I thought it interesting to see Le Chefs de France before they enclosed the sidewalk café... did you know that the window seats used to be outside seats? Once you know that fact it is pretty easy to see the demarkation inside the dining room. I think it's pretty neat, anyhow.
