Here are some pics of the parade they had in 1973/1974.
We went to WDW on our way back to CA. We went to Tampa to visit some friends and went to WDW while down that way.

My family went on our first trip in 1975, these photos look like the BiCentennial parade I remember from then! We didn't have any pictures of them, except in my mind! Thank you so much for posting those so I could show my husband and kids!

Oh boy! This weekend when I went to my parent's house, my mom had taken out three albums and said she went through all out photo albums, taken out all the Disney pictures and put them together for me! So, I found a few great old pictures.

This one is from '82. The ten year anniversary parade.

Look at how scary Pooh looks! This is '86.

I noticed in Timon's picture of Alice and Wonderland characters Alice's hair looks REAL! The Aristocats characters are so awesome! I never knew the exsisted!


The dog in POTC with the key is a different color now than he was in Don Pacho's picture.I LOVE your picture's from the 1976 parade....interesting characters in the parade.Was the turkey always in it or was that Thanksgiving time?

Here's me with Pooh..Not my favorite character, At All, but back then it was a rareity to see characters at all!
I also appreciate the lines that are formed for visiting with characters now. As you can see from this photo, and many of the others in this thread, you had to almost fight to get a photo of yourself, alone, with a character.
Am I correct in saying that the characters did not make that many appearances back then? That's what I remember, and my husband remembers that as well...

I agree, I love seeing all the old photos !
BTW, I remember seeing Pluto and the other characters with that Space Age-ie attire. I went back in 1983 & 1985.
I'm going up to my dad's house this weekend and I'll ask him to look through his boxes of phots.

Thanks. It is very likely that it was during Thanksgiving because people is wearing warm clothing.

Ok - I've finally managed to locate (free!) some of my old pictures from my parents' house!

Here's the original Captain Jack Sparrow! This was the ONLY time that we were growing up where my parents took a "cool" picture! I think it's around 1985 or so. Where the gift shop of PotC is now, there used to be a Photo area - Here's me (on the right) with my family - 22 years ago! (Love my mom's glasses - although I think they might be coming back in style!)

As for Horizons - It's what Mission:Space was before it was M:S! If you go to www dot wdwmagic dot com and do a search, you will find a lot of info! (Sorry, I cannot get it to post the site directly?!?)
